"Phut!" Yang Bo's face turned deathly pale. The repeated exertions had worsened the internal injuries he bore. His spiritual energy was nearly depleted. In such a state, the best course was to find a place to recuperate.

Yet Yang Bo dared not linger for even a moment. He was willing to exhaust his very essence to increase his speed. He knew full well that Yin Tianfang would not let him escape. If he stopped and was caught by Yin Tianfang, his fate would surely be death.

Given the choice, he would rather sacrifice his essence and flee this cursed forest. Once he returned to Mo Yu City, the stronghold of his clan, he would be safe. Mo Yu City was Yang family territory. Within its walls, no one dared lay a hand on a member of the Yang family—not even representatives of the four major factions of the Qing Shui Kingdom.

This was because the Yang family patriarch was a supreme cultivator at the Nascent Soul stage.

As he sprinted relentlessly, a glimmer of light appeared ahead. A faint smile flickered on Yang Bo’s face, but his mind remained taut with vigilance. Even after leaving the dense forest, there was still a considerable distance to Mo Yu City. His senses were sharply attuned, scanning the surroundings with spiritual awareness.

"You brat, once I return to the clan and recover, I will find you. I will tear you apart piece by piece, strip your soul, and make you suffer endlessly without release!" Yang Bo thought bitterly.

Like lightning, he reached the forest's edge in the blink of an eye. Yet at that moment, a purple glow materialized before him.

Yang Bo's heart plummeted. He dropped to the ground, his expression fluctuating between hope and despair.

"I am a scion of the Yang family of Mo Yu City, and our clan patriarch is a cultivator at the Nascent Soul stage. If you kill me, the patriarch will not let you live. Even with your great power, can you truly escape the hands of a Nascent Soul expert?"

"I tried to kill you but failed. You used others to strike back and grievously wounded me. We are even now. Why do you persist in this? Why not leave it be and never cross paths again?"

Standing his ground, Yang Bo spoke cautiously, his eyes scanning for threats.

But the reply came in the form of a massive hand forged from gravitational energy, crashing down towards him.

"The situation dictates the outcome. Do you take me for a child? Do you think I would believe such nonsense? If I let you go today, that would truly be foolish," came a cold voice, as a figure slowly emerged from the forest.

Yin Tianfang’s face was somewhat pale, but compared to Yang Bo’s current state, he looked many times better. Yang Bo had been running desperately, and Yin Tianfang had spared no effort in pursuit.

Had Yang Bo not been severely injured, Yin Tianfang would not have behaved so recklessly. But after the assault by the demonic ape, Yang Bo was gravely wounded. Adding this reckless flight, he was utterly exhausted—his internal energy nearly spent.

"You brat, do you think I’m afraid of you?" Yang Bo shouted angrily, forming hand seals. A myriad of lotus flowers appeared, transforming into a storm of sword qi that tore through the invisible giant hand.

The sword qi surged toward Yin Tianfang, enveloping him. He looked up, eyes narrowing slightly, then struck out with a palm. A fierce wind arose, spiritual energy boiling through the heavens and earth. A gigantic palm brushed through the void, shattering the sword qi into countless sparks drifting through the air.

Yang Bo grunted, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. He staggered, nearly collapsing. Having unleashed such a technique, his internal energy was completely drained. Even standing was a challenge.

Seeing this, Yin Tianfang smirked coldly. “Looks like I was right—you’re completely spent.”

“When you hunted me before, you should have expected this outcome. Fate and time!”

“Hmph, killing me won’t be so easy!” Yang Bo snorted and slapped his storage pouch. A wooden puppet appeared, forming hand seals as his lips moved in incantation.

“Boom!” The puppet trembled lightly as a terrifying aura burst forth from it.

Yin Tianfang’s expression changed abruptly. Such a formidable presence chilled his entire being.

“Nascent Soul aura!” Yin Tianfang immediately recognized the energy—only a Nascent Soul cultivator could emit such power. His mind shifted, and purple shards appeared before Yang Bo, aiming straight for his forehead.

Yang Bo’s heart skipped a beat. The incantation he was about to complete was interrupted. Forming a defensive barrier with his hands, he blocked the purple shards.

“Phut!” Though the shards failed to kill him, their tremendous impact dealt another heavy blow to the already injured Yang Bo, who was sent flying backwards, crashing hard onto the ground.

The puppet lost its energy and fell, reverting to an ordinary wooden figure. The terrifying aura gradually dissipated.

“What other tricks do you have now?” Yin Tianfang asked coldly, his gaze indifferent.

“Hmph, my patriarch has placed a restriction within my soul. Should you kill me, he will know. Then, no place in heaven or earth will harbor you,” Yang Bo replied with a sneer.

“If you spare me, I promise I won’t trouble you again.”

“Spare you? Do you think I’d be foolish enough to do that? Letting an enemy live is like digging my own grave,” Yin Tianfang scoffed. Raising a hand, he unleashed a powerful force aimed directly at Yang Bo.

Yang Bo tried to summon a treasure, but with his energy depleted, he couldn’t. Helpless, he watched the attack bear down on him, unable even to move.

“Phut!” The force pierced Yang Bo’s forehead like a sharp blade. Blood sprayed as his eyes widened, staring fixedly at Yin Tianfang. His pupils dilated and his body slackened, collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

With a gesture, Yang Bo’s storage pouch dropped into Yin Tianfang’s hand. Scanning its contents, a satisfied smile crept across Yin Tianfang’s face.

Suddenly, a strange fluctuation rose from Yang Bo’s corpse. At his forehead, a white light emerged, coalescing into a spectral figure—an old man with white hair and beard, his eyes sharp and imposing.

Though merely an apparition, a terrifying aura radiated from him.

“How dare you kill a descendant of the Yang family! Whether you hide in heaven or earth, I will find you. I shall bind your soul and torment you for a thousand years, or even ten thousand!” the old man declared grimly.

“A thousand years, ten thousand years? Can you live that long, old man?” Yin Tianfang calmly faced the apparition. Despite the formidable aura, Yin Tianfang knew the old man lacked the power to kill him outright. Otherwise, he would have acted immediately rather than speaking so much.

“You will regret this, boy,” the cold voice intoned, and the apparition suddenly exploded into light that surged toward Yin Tianfang, entering his body.

Yin Tianfang attempted to dodge, but the speed was too great. Before he could react, the light vanished inside him.

Frowning, Yin Tianfang closed his eyes and concentrated, scanning his body with spiritual perception repeatedly, but found no abnormalities. This only deepened the furrow in his brow.
