Chapter 140: Humiliation
"Boss Bao? What are you all doing here?" the prison guard asked in surprise.
Seeing them supporting Scar Wolf, the guards could not figure out what kind of game Boss Bao was playing.
"Stop talking nonsense and open the door," Boss Bao said with a gloomy expression.
"Now, Boss Bao, this is Ye Fei's cell!" the guard kindly reminded him, assuming Boss Bao and his men had made a mistake.
"Open the door—" Boss Bao's face darkened. Selling out a brother was already a shameful thing, and he didn't want to dwell on it. For this guard to keep chattering here was nothing less than a slap to his face.
"Yes, yes..." Seeing that Boss Bao's expression was off, the guard hastily responded and unlocked the cell door.
Ye Fei and the others were chatting animatedly in the cell when they suddenly heard the door open and turned their heads.
Boss Bao!
Ye Fei and the others looked at the group in surprise.
Boss Bao and his men supported Scar Wolf as they walked in, then closed the door behind them, not wanting anyone outside to see what was about to happen inside.
*Clank—*
As the cell door shut, the two guards outside muttered to each other:
"Boss Bao actually came to see Ye Fei? Are they going to start a fight? Did you see the looks on their faces?"
"Are you an idiot or just stupid? Can't you even tell that much? Boss Bao is scared and wants to make peace with Ye Fei. Didn't you notice they even brought Scar Wolf along?"
The other guard suddenly realized, "Oh, today Scar Wolf's injuries were treated and he came back, but just now he looked even worse. So it was Boss Bao and the others who did that to him. Damn, no wonder their expressions looked so weird just now!"
"You fool, do you get it now? Earlier, when you stupidly said that was Ye Fei's cell, I was worried Boss Bao might just choke the life out of you right there."
...
"Boss Bao, what a rare guest! And you brought Scar Wolf with you—did you come to pay his medical bills, or are you here to settle scores?" Ye Fei bantered.
*Pfft—* Liang Ji and the others almost laughed out loud, barely managing to hold it in.
Boss Bao and his men knew Ye Fei was mocking them, but they had thick skins and endured it.
"Ye Fei, let's not beat around the bush. There isn't really any deep feud between us; it was all just a misunderstanding. The death of your underling had nothing to do with us; it was Scar Wolf who caused it. Besides, Cheetah and Tank have already paid for it with their lives. Any misunderstanding should be cleared up by now. We've brought Scar Wolf here today to make things clear to you," Boss Bao said with a dark face.
Although Liang Ji and the others desperately wanted to despise these guys, they didn't dare do it to their faces and suffered greatly trying to hold back.
Ye Fei maintained a poker face and instructed Liang Ji, "Liang Ji, go drag Scar Wolf over here."
"Brother Fei—" Liang Ji's face instantly turned green as he cast a pleading look at Ye Fei.
"Don't worry! His hands and feet are dislocated, so even if he just lies there, he won't be able to fight back," Ye Fei said.
"Alright!"
Steeling his nerve, Liang Ji walked over, eyeing Boss Bao and his men cautiously.
"Let Scar Wolf go," Boss Bao commanded. Big Croc and the others immediately released their grip, letting Scar Wolf drop to the ground.
"You bastards, selling out your own brothers..." Scar Wolf roared the moment his mouth was freed.
Big Croc instantly delivered a kick to Scar Wolf's mouth, shutting him up.
Liang Ji's heart skipped a beat as he carefully grabbed one of Scar Wolf's legs and dragged him toward Ye Fei.
"You punk, you're courting death! Let me go! Once I recover, I'll tear you to pieces!" Scar Wolf cursed furiously as he was dragged across the floor by his leg.
Ignoring him, Liang Ji dragged Scar Wolf right up to Ye Fei.
Ye Fei raised his foot and kicked Scar Wolf in both hands and his right leg. A series of *crack, crack* sounds echoed as he kicked the dislocated joints back into place.
"Ah!" Scar Wolf let out a miserable scream, instinctively flailing his fists and legs—he could move again.
"Roar!" With a fierce growl, Scar Wolf lunged at Ye Fei. Wanting nothing more than to tear Ye Fei into a thousand pieces, he attacked him first.
"You don't know what's good for you," Ye Fei scoffed. Without even needing to dodge, he lashed out with a kick that struck Scar Wolf squarely in the chest, sending him crashing back toward Boss Bao and his men.
"Boss Bao, you bunch of sons of bitches!" Scar Wolf scrambled to his feet and frantically lunged at Boss Bao and the others instead.
However, Scar Wolf was already heavily injured, and his left leg had previously been snapped by Ye Fei. In his current state, he was no match for Boss Bao's group and was quickly subdued once more.
"Ye Fei, can we consider the matter between us settled now? I'm leaving Scar Wolf to you," Boss Bao said.
"Take him away," Ye Fei said indifferently.
"Ye Fei, what is the meaning of this?" Boss Bao frowned.
"Did you not understand what I said? Take Scar Wolf away. As for Xiao Bai, I will naturally give him a proper account in due time. Now get lost," Ye Fei said coldly.
Boss Bao and his men wore shifting expressions. Ye Fei had rejected them; not only had they failed to resolve their grudge with him, but they had also earned the shameful reputation of selling out a brother. This trip had truly been entirely worthless.
After changing expressions several times, Boss Bao gritted his teeth and said, "Let's go."
"Brother Bao, what about Scar Wolf..." Big Croc asked in a low voice.
"Take him back first," Boss Bao replied.
The group had arrived with swagger only to retreat in dejection. Coming here just to be thoroughly humiliated by Ye Fei was utterly humiliating.
The two guards watched Boss Bao and his men leave before locking the cell door again. From that moment on, however, they no longer dared to treat Ye Fei as they once did. Ye Fei had effortlessly established himself as an even more terrifying prison boss than Boss Bao and his clique.
***
In a separate cell, there were only two inmates.
They were Little Blood and Da Lian.
The two men had been in this prison for a full day. Everything they had done throughout that day was gather information about Ye Fei and analyze his strength based on it.
In just one day, they had compiled a complete assessment of Ye Fei's capabilities.
"Based on our preliminary data analysis, this Ye Fei possesses the strength of an international-level fighter. Furthermore, he is ruthless and never holds back when he strikes. We've also looked into Ye Fei's background outside, and apart from the blank period of a dozen years when he went abroad, there are no issues with any of his other experiences."
"Indeed, Ye Fei's transformation must be related to those dozen years. I suspect he used to be some kind of international fighter."
"I believe Ye Fei's strength is roughly on par with ours, but we hold the advantage. We are in the shadows while he is in the light. Moreover, Ye Fei excels in frontal assaults, whereas we specialize in assassination—defense is impossible against us. I'd say our odds of winning are one hundred percent."
Little Blood and Da Lian discussed in their cell.
Their conversation revolved entirely around core topics like killing and assassination. Anyone overhearing them would have felt a chill strike straight to their bones; to these two men, taking a life was talked about as casually as eating a meal or drinking water, without a shred of fear.
These two men had been hired by Fang Tingfang. The man in the gold-rimmed glasses, Steward Yu, was one of Fang Tingfang's trusted aides domestically. Both of these men were international assassins. Though not top-tier assassins, their combined forces in coordinated assassinations rivaled top-tier professionals. Otherwise, Fang Tingfang would never have bothered to employ them to take care of Ye Fei.
