“What! Both of our brothers are dead? And that expert, Black Soul Berserk, whom Young Master Xing brought in—is he dead too?” Boss Bao froze, unable to believe it.

…

“Ye Fei is vicious. He’s killed four people in a row now.”

“Damn, he killed Cheetah just last night, and today he’s taken out two more. Looks like Ye Fei intends to wipe out Boss Bao and all the rest of them.”

“Just who is this Ye Fei? He’s killed so many people, yet nothing has happened to him. Cheetah was a cash cow for the warden! Even after being beaten to death, Ye Fei wasn’t held responsible.”

“I’m telling you, Ye Fei must have a powerful background.”

“Boss Bao and his men have really suffered this time. They killed one young fellow and ended up provoking a ruthless man like Ye Fei. It looks as if all eight of their lives are going to be the price.”

The other prisoners in the jail were also discussing the matter heatedly. Three more men had died. One of them was a stranger, but the other two belonged to Boss Bao’s group.

Now that the men were dead, everyone guessed that Ye Fei was responsible. Someone even claimed to have accidentally seen Ye Fei heading there—and Wild Wolf and the other two had happened to be there at the same time.

“Damn it! Black Soul Berserk, my ass. He called himself an expert, yet he died at Ye Fei’s hands on his very first day. Fuck.”

“What are we going to do, Brother Bao? If Ye Fei comes after us, none of us will escape. We’re dead.”

“Brother Bao, Ye Fei is too dangerous. Why don’t we ask Warden Niu to transfer us to another prison?”

Inside Boss Bao’s cell, the other surviving men spoke anxiously.

“It won’t do any good. If we ask to be transferred, we’ll be of no use to Warden Niu anymore. He won’t care whether we live or die. We absolutely cannot bring up a transfer now,” Boss Bao said.

“Damn it, we’ve really been screwed this time. Who would have thought Ye Fei was so formidable? We should never have gone looking for trouble with him in the first place,” Boss Bao thought uneasily.

Ye Fei’s skills had far exceeded their expectations. After throwing his weight around in this prison for so many years, was his reign finally coming to an end?

Several burly men crowded inside the cell, all of them wearing grim expressions.

After hesitating for a moment, one of them said, “Brother Bao, the only thing we can do now is hand Wild Wolf over to Ye Fei. Maybe then Ye Fei won’t take his anger out on the rest of us.”

The others had all considered the same proposal; none of them had simply dared to voice it. Now that someone had spoken first, the rest exchanged glances and began to speak as well.

“Brother Bao, I think he’s right. We don’t actually have any deep-seated grudge against Ye Fei. Everything happened because Wild Wolf killed that young fellow. If not for him, Ye Fei wouldn’t have come after us.”

Boss Bao’s gaze shifted uncertainly as he looked at his men. He had entertained the same thought, but he was reluctant to act on it. If he betrayed his own brother, how could he continue to command respect in the future? And what guarantee was there that his men would not betray him in the same way someday?

Once the subject had been raised, everyone began offering their opinions. Wild Wolf was not there, after all—Ye Fei had beaten him so badly that he had already been sent to the infirmary for treatment.

Unexpectedly, apart from Boss Bao, who had yet to state his position, everyone else hinted, directly or indirectly, that they agreed to hand Wild Wolf over to Ye Fei and resolve the feud between them.

As for the dead Cheetah and the other two men, they could simply be forgotten. They were not blood brothers, after all. Once a man was dead, so too were the feelings attached to him.

“You all make sense,” Boss Bao said. “But if we hand Wild Wolf over to Ye Fei, what will the other prisoners think of us? And what will we do if Young Master Xing comes after us?”

Big Crocodile, who had been defeated by Black Soul Berserk, spoke up. “Brother Bao, stop worrying about all that. We need to get through the crisis in front of us first! Ye Fei is not someone we can afford to provoke. If we keep fighting him, we’ll end up just like Cheetah and the others. As for what everyone else thinks—once Ye Fei leaves the prison, won’t this place still belong to us brothers? Anyone who dares run his mouth or complain, we’ll kill him. Let’s see who still dares gossip behind our backs.”

Boss Bao felt that the argument made sense. They had all realized that Ye Fei would not remain in the prison for long. He would be released soon, and once he was gone, they would still call the shots.

“What about Young Master Xing?” Boss Bao asked.

“We can’t worry about him anymore. If he holds us accountable, that’s a problem for later. But if we don’t do this, Ye Fei will kill us right now. Besides, what we do has anything to do with Young Master Xing? What right does he have to interfere in our affairs? If he wants to deal with Ye Fei, he can send more people. We can’t afford to keep going. Three of our men are already dead, and Wild Wolf won’t survive this either,” Big Crocodile said.

“Fine. You’re all right. We’ll do as you say. There’s nothing we can do about Young Master Xing anymore,” Boss Bao said.

“Wild Wolf, don’t blame us for abandoning you. You were the one who killed that young fellow. We can’t sacrifice all our lives for one man—especially when Cheetah and Tank have already been killed because of you.”

The men in the cell unanimously decided to hand Wild Wolf over and appease Ye Fei’s fury.

The next day, Wild Wolf was brought back from the infirmary.

Boss Bao and the others immediately took him out of the cell, unable to wait a moment longer.

“Brother Bao, where are we going?” Wild Wolf asked, puzzled.

“Wild Wolf, keep quiet. You’ll know when we get there,” Big Crocodile said.

Wild Wolf was confused. When he noticed that they were heading in the wrong direction, he was not slow-witted. He understood at once and hurriedly looked toward Boss Bao.

“Brother Bao, you’re taking me to Ye Fei?”

“Wild Wolf, we have no choice. Ye Fei is a madman. It isn’t worth sacrificing all our lives over one man. Cheetah and Tank have already been killed because of you. We’re being forced into this,” Boss Bao said.

“Bullshit! You’re trying to hand me over to Ye Fei so he can torture me—” Wild Wolf shouted, but someone immediately clamped a hand over his mouth.

“Hold him down,” Boss Bao ordered.

The men instantly restrained Wild Wolf.

“Wild Wolf, Ye Fei’s subordinate was killed by you, and because of that, three of our brothers have been killed by Ye Fei,” Boss Bao said.

But how could Wild Wolf, alone, struggle free from the grip of four men? They seized his hands and feet and forcibly dragged him to Ye Fei’s cell.

The wounds that had only just been bandaged immediately began bleeding again.

“Brother Bao, Wild Wolf is struggling too conspicuously,” Big Crocodile said.

Wild Wolf, don’t blame me for being ruthless.

Boss Bao’s voice turned cold. “Dislocate his arms and legs. Don’t let him move.”

After several sharp cracks, Boss Bao and the others wrenched Wild Wolf’s limbs out of joint, then carried him between them.
