It seems someone is intentionally sabotaging Tianxiang’s branch to make operations difficult. Director Shu and Miss Su have been overwhelmed, handling company affairs nonstop. It’s worn them out — they’ve been busy late every day and fall asleep quickly once they get home.”

Ye Fei nodded. Apart from Shuman Yun and a few others, Hui Ge and Xiao Bao didn’t know what he had been up to.

“You’ve been guarding them all day and must be tired. Go get some rest. I’m off too,” Ye Fei said with a smile, then took a shower before going to his room.

Ye Fei held *Yi close and smiled. “You’ve only been pregnant a little over a month. How can I hear anything now?”

“Just listen!” *Yi coquettishly insisted.

“All right, all right.” Ye Fei relented, lifting her thin nightgown and pressing his ear gently against her pale belly, listening carefully.

*Yi placed her hand lightly on Ye Fei’s head. After a moment, Ye Fei looked up, and *Yi asked, “Well?”

“…” Ye Fei wasn’t sure what to say. He wanted to make something up but had no idea what. He could only smile awkwardly.

“You have no sense of romance at all,” *Yi teased.

“Okay, okay, my bad. I noticed you haven’t been sleeping well lately. Any slight noise wakes you up,” Ye Fei said, holding *Yi and soothing her. Then he asked gently.

*Yi leaned into Ye Fei and said, “I don’t know. There’s been so much going on recently. Sister Manyun and the others have been dealing with endless troubles. Director Zhang can’t help much, and some in the company have been using my situation to pressure him. With you gone, I’ve been scared and easily startled.”

Ye Fei gently patted her back. “It’s okay now. I’m back, and I’ll stay with you from now on. I’ll handle those problems. You just need to be happy and relaxed.”

“Ye Fei, you’re back. Did you finish your business?” Shuman Yun asked with a smile.

Andy said nothing.

“I didn’t go off to have fun! I came back as soon as I finished what I had to do. Besides, I’m just a security guard, mainly watching the door. The company’s affairs aren’t really my concern, so I can’t be blamed for abandoning it!” Ye Fei replied.
