Andy’s injuries were not serious, though they would leave an unsightly scar. Since Andy cared deeply about her appearance, she beamed with joy only after Ye Fei helped her prepare a scar-removal ointment.

"Ye Fei, your scar-removal ointment is so effective. If you were to patent it and produce it specifically, it would surely be a massive profit," said Shu Manyun. She touched her neck, where the scar had vanished completely without a trace.

"Haha, if you want to do it, I’ll write down the formula for you another day. I really don’t have the leisure to handle such things," Ye Fei laughed. He didn’t care for business or making money; if he truly wanted to, a single mission of his would yield a staggering reward.

"Really? You agree? How about this: I’ll provide the funding and manage everything, taking a twenty percent share. Since it wouldn’t be possible without your formula, you can take eighty percent as your technical stake. How does that sound? I’ll be working for you, big boss!" Shu Manyun teased.

"No need for that. You can hold all the shares; I won’t take any, as I won't be doing any of the work anyway," Ye Fei replied.

"Fine! I’ll handle the arrangements then, you don’t need to worry about any of it," Shu Manyun said. She planned to set it up so that even if she gave him shares, he wouldn't have to do a thing—just wait to collect the money.

Ye Fei nodded and said, "Then I’m heading back to school."

"Back to school already?" Shu Manyun asked, sounding unhappy.

"Yes, but there have been major breakthroughs in my investigation. I expect it to be wrapped up soon, and then I’ll come back to work full-time. Chairwoman Shu, can I get a raise then?" Ye Fei laughed. He was in good spirits; with the investigation nearing its end, he wouldn't have to keep flirting with those young schoolgirls, which would save him from feeling so guilty.

Hearing that his mission was nearly complete and he would return soon, Shu Manyun felt much better. She feigned a fierce expression and chided, "You’ve been hired for so long, yet you haven't even worked at the office for a full month. You're lucky I didn't dock your pay! Get back to work first, then we'll talk about a raise."

"I was hospitalized for over a month because I saved you, and I’m often off-site helping you guys. It’s unfair to blame me," Ye Fei muttered.

"What was that?" Shu Manyun asked, confused.

"Nothing. I’m off. Be careful—with that 'mean' streak, you’ll never get married!" Ye Fei said, quickly slipping away.

Shu Manyun tried to throw her bag at him, but he had already escaped.

"Manyun, where’s Ye Fei?" Su Xue and Andy walked out, seeing only Shu Manyun, and asked.

"He went back to school. He asked me to tell you both that he’ll be finished with his business there very soon," Shu Manyun replied.

...

Back at school, Ye Fei ran into Sha Qiang and several security guards. They seemed to have intercepted him intentionally, and based on their positioning, it was clearly an encirclement.

"What do you want?" Ye Fei asked, sweeping a calm gaze over them.

"Ye Fei, you’ve hidden yourself quite well. I never expected you to pull the wool over our eyes so many times," Sha Qiang sneered.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Ye Fei narrowed his eyes, asking coolly. He felt there was a definite hidden meaning in Sha Qiang's words.

Sha Qiang laughed coldly, "Ye Fei, I know everything now. You entered Yingde Private School for the purpose of an investigation. I advise you to just be a good little student and stop playing games."

"Are you done? If so, get lost and stop blocking my way," Ye Fei said indifferently.

"Move aside," Sha Qiang waved his hand, and the men cleared a path.

Ye Fei left directly. After meeting up with Zhang Xiaoxiao, she pulled him into a secluded corner. "Ye Fei, the school security guards have been looking for you all morning. Are you okay?" she asked with concern.

"Looking for me many times? It seems they’ve discovered something. No wonder Sha Qiang and his men blocked me earlier and said those strange things. I need to figure out where I went wrong," Ye Fei wondered to himself.

Back in his dormitory, before he could even make a call, Cui Yanwu reached out to him.

As soon as he answered, Cui Yanwu’s low voice came through: "Ye Fei, my people have investigated and found that the marijuana plantation on Camphor Island was burned to the ground today. We didn't manage to collect much useful evidence."

"The marijuana plantation was burned?"

Ye Fei instantly realized where the mistake had been made. It was during the investigation of the plantation when he had killed a venomous snake. He had been too careless; it was a massive blunder.

Ye Fei realized that a plantation as large as the one on Camphor Island, which was also a tourist island, would certainly be patrolled by guards and dogs to prevent tourists from stumbling upon it. They must have discovered the snake carcass with its clean, precise cut, as well as the bloodstains left on the ground where he had sucked the poisoned blood from Guan Yong'er.

Perhaps they wouldn't have identified him so quickly, but Ye Fei recalled that Xie Dong and Rong Gui had formed a business alliance with Fang Tingfang. Since Lu Sicheng and Rong Cheng had both participated in the outing, as soon as their fathers asked them about that night, they would have pinpointed Ye Fei.

"They already know why I entered the school. The security guards from the private firm have already confronted me," Ye Fei said in a deep voice.

"Ever since my men reported the plantation fire, I had a feeling they would identify you soon, but I didn't expect it to happen this fast," Cui Yanwu said.

"Ye Fei, your mission is over. Leave the school. I will keep your identity a secret," Cui Yanwu added gravely.

"No, it’s not over. I’m going to uncover their evidence. If they aren't brought to justice, once this 'anti-gang' crackdown blows over, they’ll come after me. I might be able to handle them, but I don't want to drag innocent people around me into this," Ye Fei replied.

Cui Yanwu fell silent. He really wanted Ye Fei’s help, as Ye Fei was the most skilled operative he knew—though he didn't know the full extent of his abilities, he knew he was better than himself.

"But your identity is exposed. They will not only be more vigilant but will also hide all their criminal activities," Cui Yanwu said.

"Since they already know, I’ll just go on the offensive, loud and clear, to flush them out. Whether they choose to tighten their defenses or counter-attack, they will leave traces behind. Once we have those threads, we can dismantle them bit by bit and bring them to justice," Ye Fei said with a cold smile.

Cui Yanwu paused, then suddenly burst into a loud laugh: "Haha, good! Ye Fei, you’re right—go on the offensive and flush them out. They’re bound to make a mistake eventually. As long as we find a lead, we can pull the thread and bring the truth to light."

Ye Fei smiled and said, "But I can’t be everywhere at once. Shouldn’t you send a few experts to help me out?"

"Done. Don’t you worry, Ye Fei; I’ll send a few of my best men to assist you. They are the strongest I have. Once they arrive, you go ahead and do what you need to do," Cui Yanwu laughed.

Ye Fei ended the call.

The security company managing the school, Lu Weiming of the Ming Gang, Rong Gui, and the school’s largest shareholder, Fang Tingfang—these four forces formed a dark cloud looming over Yingde Private School. Among them, the security company and Fang Tingfang were the masterminds who had long been stirring up trouble within the school.

Ye Fei hadn't expected to be clashing with these four forces so soon.
