Chapter 104: Wang Bing's Exposure

On the very day the students departed, a patrol dog discovered a pool of blood.

"Woof... woof..."

"Something’s up. Go check it out." A group of men rushed over and surrounded the bloodstain.

The man in the lead crouched down to take a look, then picked up the headless carcass of a snake. His brow furrowed. "Someone has broken in here. They must have discovered the marijuana base."

"Brother Bang, there are tourists on the island every day. Could it be that one of them just wandered here by accident?" a subordinate asked, sounding doubtful.

"Impossible," Brother Bang replied. "If it were a tourist who stumbled upon this place by accident, they wouldn't be carrying a sharp weapon. Look at the clean, smooth cut on the snake's carcass; it was severed with a sharp blade. The intruder was clearly well-prepared. They were likely bitten by the snake, sucked the venom out of the wound—that's what this blood is—and then decapitated the snake."

He continued, "The patrol dogs didn't find this yesterday, which means the intruder came in last night. Check the records of which tourists were on the island last night and who would be most likely to come here. Then, inform Director Fang immediately."

Brother Bang ordered his men into action.

This single oversight by Ye Fei had exposed his actions from the night before. However, Ye Fei was only one man; he could not be expected to be flawless and cover every contingency forever.

It must be said that the people on the island were quite efficient. They quickly narrowed their search down to the students, and once Fang Tingfang learned of the situation, she began her own investigation.

Just as Ye Fei was leaving the school, "Brother Hua," the head of the security company, also contacted Lu Weiming and Rong Gui of the Ming Gang. Since the sons of both Lu and Rong had participated in the excursion to Camphor Island the day before, they might know something.

Although Ye Fei wasn't needed for this, he preferred to be cautious, and it had been a long time since he had seen the ladies, so he took this opportunity to return and check on them.

Inside the conference room of Tianxiang Company, all the senior executives and management were present.

Shu Manyun, accompanied by Andy and Su Xue, walked into the room.

"Everyone is here, so let's begin the meeting," Shu Manyun announced. "I have called this meeting primarily because we have obtained evidence that certain individuals within the company have been lining their own pockets and embezzling company funds."

As soon as these words were spoken, some in the room shuddered, their eyes darting nervously. Even high-level executives like Wang Bing, Yan Jinchang, and Jin Zhao looked uneasy.

No one spoke. The atmosphere in the room was heavy; the guilty were anxious, and the innocent dared not open their mouths.

"Andy, please present the findings," Shu Manyun said, sitting at the head of the table.

"Yes, Chairwoman Shu." Andy nodded and produced a document.

"Since Chairwoman Shu took over the company, although major projects have made significant progress and company performance has shown an upward trend, there have been some discordant elements. Following reports, testimonies, and secret audits, it has been confirmed that certain individuals have used their positions to embezzle and misappropriate project funds, involving massive sums. Specifically, we have verified evidence against Project Manager Wang Bing, Deputy General Manager of Finance Yan Jinchang, and Operations Director Jin Zhao. Their embezzlement and misappropriation amount to tens of millions. The company has decided to strip these three of their positions, recover the embezzled funds, and pursue legal action against them. This decision will be posted publicly to inform all staff, and we hope others will take this as a warning," Andy read, glancing at each individual as she mentioned their names.

*Slap!*

"Impossible!" Yan Jinchang roared, slamming his hand on the table.

While Wang Bing and Jin Zhao didn't dare slam the table, they weren't about to sit idly by; they also claimed that the investigation was a mistake and denied embezzling or misappropriating any company funds.

Shu Manyun sat in the main seat, shaking her head slightly. "Andy, go invite Little Hong from Shipai Village and the other witnesses in."

"Very well, Chairwoman Shu." Andy nodded and walked out of the conference room.

Upon hearing the name "Little Hong from Shipai Village," Wang Bing felt a chill run down his spine. When he had bribed the people of Shipai Village, one of the man's nephews had been standing right there. He knew it was over. Shu Manyun must have had ironclad evidence, and not just for this case—there were other witnesses, meaning she was not only pursuing this single incident but would be holding them accountable for all their other acts of embezzlement as well.

Yan Jinchang had been with Tianxiang Company for a long time and was a highly senior executive. Facing a life-or-death crisis, he cast caution aside, slammed the table, and pointed at Shu Manyun, shouting, "Shu Manyun, I have been with the Deep Sea branch of Tianxiang for over a decade. I have done so much for this company, and no one has ever accused me of embezzling funds! You’ve been here for less than four months, and you dare accuse me? Did the previous directors, who worked with me for over ten years, all collude with me? Or are you saying the previous directors were incompetent, and you, having only been here for a few months, have accomplished what they couldn't?"

"Deputy Manager Yan, please calm down. In a moment, I will present detailed evidence that will convince everyone. I would never slander anyone," Shu Manyun said calmly.

Shu Manyun’s flat, composed rebuttal left Yan Jinchang speechless and unable to vent his fury. Since she had stated she would provide evidence, his roaring was useless.

Soon, Andy returned with several people—men and women, young and old. When Wang Bing, Yan Jinchang, and Jin Zhao saw them, their faces all changed. Although these were not all the people they had bribed, the testimony of these few was more than enough.

While these people had taken money from the trio, they had been coerced by the henchmen of Mad Tiger. Those underworld figures were capable of anything, so these witnesses had been forced to come forward.

Once inside, Little Hong and the others looked nervous, not knowing where to look.

"Little Hong, thank you for coming forward to testify. Tell us about Manager Wang and his associates. We will not hold you responsible for your past actions," Shu Manyun said.

Little Hong nodded. Since Shu Manyun had given the word, they knew how to begin. The group took turns testifying, recounting everything they knew.

"A pack of lies! It's all slander!" Yan Jinchang shouted angrily.

"Chairwoman Shu, this Little Hong is not to be trusted at all. When I went to their village to discuss the demolition, I had a conflict with him and was injured by him. Later, he was beaten by our company's security guards and has held a grudge ever since. He must be harboring resentment and is using this opportunity to frame me," Wang Bing said, his face dark.

Jin Zhao hurriedly added, "I don't know any of these people. I've never seen them before. Chairwoman Shu, don't be deceived!"

Seeing the three of them deny everything, Little Hong and his group grew anxious and shouted, pointing at them, "Who’s framing you? I was there at the time and know exactly what happened!"

"Jin, you didn't say you didn't know me when you were looking for me back then!"

"Director Yan, when you asked me to do that job, I kept a record just in case. If you don't believe me, I've already handed the evidence to Chairwoman Shu. You'll understand soon enough!"

The two sides argued heatedly, turning the conference room into a chaotic marketplace.

"Enough. Quiet," Shu Manyun calmly intervened.

"Little Hong, you have given your testimony. You may leave for now," Shu Manyun said with a nod, and Andy led them out of the conference room.

Shu Manyun turned to the three men, whose faces were flushed red, and said indifferently, "There is no need to rush. Your contributions to the company are plain for all to see. I will not wrong anyone, nor will I dampen the spirits of the company's staff. Su Xue—"

Shu Manyun called out.

"Chairwoman Shu," Su Xue said, standing up from her seat. She picked up a stack of documents and distributed a copy to everyone present.

These documents contained the very evidence Shu Manyun and her team had gathered, all prepared in advance.
