Chapter 102: The Marijuana Cultivation Base (Part 2)
“Remember, you two must not make a sound!” Ye Fei warned.
Accompanying these two was already giving Ye Fei a headache. Guan Yong’er clearly came from a wealthy family, pampered and delicate. Bringing her along on such a risky mission was dangerous, but she insisted on coming, so there was no choice.
As for Liu Zixuan, her carefree and somewhat reckless nature made Ye Fei worry she might cause trouble and get them discovered.
Fortunately, so far, neither of them had caused any incidents.
“Ye Fei, this place is quite far from the hotel! Why are we coming all the way out here?” Liu Zixuan brushed off some branches from her clothes and asked.
“The hotel area is crowded with people. Even if they’re growing marijuana there, it wouldn’t be safe—it’s too easy for someone to accidentally stumble upon it. So we won’t find anything by checking near the hotel. I’m taking you to a more secluded part of the island, where it’s more likely to find marijuana cultivation,” Ye Fei explained.
“Wow, Ye Fei, you really know a lot! You’re so skilled, and you’re not bad looking either. I’m starting to want to be your girlfriend,” Liu Zixuan said with stars in her eyes, full of admiration.
Guan Yong’er looked at Ye Fei with curiosity.
Ye Fei chuckled softly and teased, “Aren’t I already your boyfriend?”
“Tch, that’s fake—just a way to trick that annoying Huang Tianqiao,” Liu Zixuan retorted.
“Shh, there’s a boat. Don’t speak,” Ye Fei suddenly whispered.
Across the sea, a boat was approaching, but it was on the far side of the island, a remote area. If they were near the hotel or the beach where people usually played, they wouldn’t have seen it. But Ye Fei, Liu Zixuan, and Guan Yong’er had already reached this secluded part of the island and spotted the boat.
“A small boat coming so late to such a remote spot must mean trouble,” Ye Fei said.
“Let’s go check it out.”
Luckily, the island was thick with trees on this side, allowing the three of them to move stealthily without being seen.
Just as they were about to get closer, Guan Yong’er suddenly shuddered but bit her lip to keep from screaming.
“Don’t come closer, there’s a snake—” she whispered quietly.
Liu Zixuan immediately took two fearful steps back.
Ye Fei silently admired Guan Yong’er. Usually, in a situation like this, most girls wouldn’t just scream upon seeing a snake; let alone being bitten by one. For a pampered young lady like her to stay so calm was impressive.
Ye Fei’s respect for Guan Yong’er deepened.
Ye Fei had quite a bit of equipment on him and quickly pulled out a mini flashlight. The beam revealed a one-meter-long snake coiled tightly around Guan Yong’er’s alabaster thigh, its venomous fangs biting hard into the base of her leg.
“Hiss—” Ye Fei was even more impressed. He had thought she only noticed the snake without panicking, but to endure being bitten and wrapped by the snake without crying out was remarkable.
The slimy creature would give anyone goosebumps just by touch, yet Guan Yong’er had overcome that fear.
Without hesitation, Ye Fei acted swiftly, pinching the snake’s head with two fingers. Instantly, the snake loosened its grip on Guan Yong’er’s thigh and tried to coil around Ye Fei’s arm instead.
With a strong flick of his wrist, Ye Fei shook the snake until it went limp, then a flash of steel glinted as he cut off its head.
“This is a venomous snake. Its poison is highly toxic. If not treated within an hour, the venom will spread fatally,” Ye Fei said gravely.
“What do we do? Ye Fei, can you save her?” Liu Zixuan asked anxiously.
“I have a temporary antidote, but first you have to suck the venom out of her wound. After that, she can take the antidote, which will keep her safe for twelve hours. Then she needs to be taken to a hospital for proper treatment,” Ye Fei explained, pulling out a small bottle containing two pills.
“Huh?” Ye Fei held up the bottle, noticing Liu Zixuan still stood frozen.
“Zixuan, hurry up and suck the venom out! We can’t delay!” Ye Fei urged.
“Um... I... I...” Liu Zixuan stammered and hesitated, unwilling to move to help Guan Yong’er.
“Ye Fei, you go! I—I can’t,” Liu Zixuan mumbled shyly.
Since Guan Yong’er had been bitten so close to her thigh, helping her meant getting very close to a sensitive and private area, which Liu Zixuan was reluctant to do.
Biting her lip, Guan Yong’er hesitated, then said with difficulty, “Ye Fei, alright. You do it. This is a matter of life and death. We’re doctor and patient now.”
Ye Fei gave Liu Zixuan a sharp look before removing Guan Yong’er’s shorts. She was wearing underwear that covered most of her, hiding the wound. Ye Fei had no choice but to tear a bit of the underwear to expose the bite, but he pulled too hard, and the rip was so large that Guan Yong’er’s entire intimate area was revealed to him.
“Uh... okay, just for saving your life,” Ye Fei thought to himself.
Suppressing any inappropriate thoughts, he leaned in and sucked on the base of her thigh, drawing out the snake venom and poisoned blood. Being so close, Ye Fei detected a faint, intoxicating scent.
After several rounds, once the blood he drew was bright red and clean, he had removed all the venom.
He quickly helped Guan Yong’er pull her shorts back up, then poured out one of the pills.
“This is the antidote pill. Take it quickly. It will keep you safe for twelve hours. After that, you must go to the hospital for a thorough check and treatment to be fully safe.”
Having had the venom sucked out, Guan Yong’er lost the last of her bravery. She no longer stared boldly at Ye Fei but lowered her head and hurriedly swallowed the pill.
The three continued onward. Because Guan Yong’er’s thigh was injured, she had difficulty moving, so Ye Fei carried her. Seeing this, Liu Zixuan wanted Ye Fei to carry her too, afraid of snakes.
“Hmph, walk on your own. You didn’t want to suck out the venom earlier. If you get bitten, I’ll help you then,” Ye Fei said with a grunt.
“Hmph, I’m walking. I’m not getting bitten by poisonous snakes! You’re just trying to take advantage of me,” Liu Zixuan huffed.
Their banter made Guan Yong’er blush so deeply she nearly bled.
Soon, the three reached a nearby area where they could see a crowd ahead.
“Ye Fei, there are quite a few people. Looks like they’re making a deal,” Liu Zixuan whispered.
“Don’t speak. Keep watching,” Ye Fei instructed, eyes fixed on the group.
Under the illumination of lights, there was indeed a boat docked by the sea, the same one they had seen approaching earlier.
Using the light from their flashlights, Ye Fei identified the plants nearby—all marijuana. Although they only saw the patch near the group, Ye Fei believed the surrounding larger area was entirely planted with marijuana.
“This might be a large-scale drug base dedicated to growing marijuana and producing narcotics,” Ye Fei thought.
“By the way, I heard the tourism on ‘Camphor Island’ is supported by the school?” Ye Fei asked.
“Yeah! ‘Camphor Island’ is owned by Fang Tingfang, the school’s largest shareholder. Every year, the school organizes trips for all students and faculty here. When students organize their own trips, they get discounts. Many people come here,” Liu Zixuan explained.
Guan Yong’er, resting in Ye Fei’s arms, looked up and asked, “Do you suspect that this marijuana is being grown by Fang Tingfang?”
Ye Fei glanced down at her and speculated, “It’s possible. If it’s not him, then someone is growing a huge patch of drug marijuana on his island, and he certainly would know about it. At the very least, Fang Tingfang must be an accomplice.”
“But he’s already so wealthy. There’s no need to risk selling drugs. Also, many officials visit Camphor Island every year. If it were discovered, wouldn’t he be breaking the law?” Liu Zixuan interjected.
Ye Fei smiled mysteriously. He felt he had uncovered something today that was closely connected to his investigation at the school.
