Chapter 60: Even Heiresses Have Their Sorrows
Chapter 060: Even the Rich Girl Has Her Sorrows
After accompanying the obviously lovestruck Murong Wei for dinner, Chu Fei hurriedly found an excuse to leave. He was afraid that if he stayed any longer, he might really be conquered by this genuine little beauty. Especially during the meal, Murong Wei’s affectionate gaze made his heart race with anxiety.
By the time Chu Fei returned to his apartment, night had already fallen. He realized his beautiful tenant wasn’t home. After a moment’s hesitation, Chu Fei took out his phone and dialed Ximen Lu’s number.
“Chu Fei? Is there something important for you to call me now?” Ximen Lu’s voice sounded odd—slightly unclear.
“Nothing much, just came home and didn’t see you. When will you be back?” Chu Fei laughed, feeling that this call to Ximen Lu was somewhat inappropriate.
“Oh, so even the infamous Chu can care about a little woman like me?” Ximen Lu’s voice was full of surprise, followed by a sneer. “You’re not my man. Why should you care when I come home? Is it your business?”
“I—” Chu Fei nearly coughed up blood. Ximen Lu was deliberately repeating his words from the afternoon verbatim. He thought to himself that he was really asking for trouble. Just as he was about to hang up, Ximen Lu continued, “I’m working late now, probably finishing around eight. Come pick me up later.” Her tone was commanding and brooked no refusal, yet it still sounded unclear.
Chu Fei really wanted to retort: since I’m not your man, why should I pick you up? But arguing with a woman is the act of a fool.
He wasn’t so petty. Nodding, he curiously asked, “Why is your voice so unclear? What are you doing? Kissing someone?”
“Get lost! You’re the one kissing someone! I’m eating instant noodles,” Ximen Lu snapped. Before Chu Fei could reply, she added, “I spent the afternoon at the bank, mortgaging the entire company. Now I’m flat broke, so poor I can only afford instant noodles.” Her voice was pitiful.
“Uh—” Chu Fei was speechless. He thought Ximen Lu moved fast; they’d just discussed it at noon, and she went to the bank in the afternoon to mortgage the company?
“Anything else? If not, I’ll hang up,” Ximen Lu asked when Chu Fei fell silent.
“No, go on with your instant noodles. I’ll go find a woman for a quick fling, so I don’t end up taking you tonight,” Chu Fei teased.
“Get lost!” Ximen Lu slammed down the phone in anger.
Who can’t be annoying? Let’s see who’s better at it.
Chu Fei put away his phone, a mischievous smile appearing on his face. He suddenly felt that his life had a certain flavor now—bantering and boasting with pretty female colleagues during the day, teasing his beautiful tenant after work. Life couldn’t be more comfortable.
Of course, Chu Fei had no ill intentions toward Ximen Lu, especially after his accidental encounter with Xu Shiqi. Though Ximen Lu was seductive and fiery enough to tempt any man, Chu Fei, with his experience, knew she’d be an extraordinary beauty if she were stripped and tossed onto the bed. Still, he remained rational. Occasional verbal sparring was fine, but anything more would be troublesome. Even one Xu Shiqi was enough; he still hadn’t figured out how to deal with their relationship.
Xu Shiqi’s first time ended up with him. This wasn’t something to take lightly, and Chu Fei felt it wouldn’t be so easily resolved.
—
Ximen Lu had told Chu Fei to pick her up after eight. Chu Fei left around seven, simply because he was bored at home alone. Just as he reached the main street, a cheerful voice called out to him.
“Wow, handsome master! It really is you—I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me!” With the voice, a blue Audi sports car screeched to a halt beside Chu Fei. From it jumped a voluptuous girl, heavily made-up with a hint of the city nightlife about her—one might mistake her for a salon worker.
“Mimi?” Chu Fei was startled to see the enthusiastic, busty girl jump in front of him. It was Xiao Mimi, Lan Youyou’s close friend.
“It’s me! Haha, handsome master, I thought you wouldn’t recognize me.” Xiao Mimi was bursting with excitement and immediately hugged Chu Fei’s arm affectionately.
“How could I not recognize you?” Chu Fei instinctively glanced at her chest, recalling Murong Wei’s woes over her small bust. This Xiao Mimi was the complete opposite—her ample chest was almost intimidating, not smaller than Zhang Qing’s, like two ripe papayas. The girl was only in her teens and still growing—if it kept up, she’d end up with two basketballs.
Xiao Mimi didn’t notice Chu Fei’s gaze, saying excitedly, “Handsome master, wait here for me!”
With that, she let go of Chu Fei and ran back to her group. He noticed that she was accompanied by several young men and women—not the ones he’d seen at the racetrack before, and Lan Youyou wasn’t there. This must be another circle of hers.
Xiao Mimi went over and said something to the group, after which they all jumped into their cars and left. Before departing, they glanced at Chu Fei curiously, as if wondering who he was.
“All right, now it’s just the two of us,” Xiao Mimi returned, grinning.
“You chased your friends away, but I don’t have time to play with you,” Chu Fei smiled wryly.
“No way, handsome master, you want to abandon me?” Xiao Mimi cried theatrically.
“Enough,” Chu Fei broke out in a cold sweat. He knew Xiao Mimi’s eccentric personality—she might seem calm around Lan Youyou, but she was a wild one at heart. He quickly stopped her, afraid she might say something even more shocking.
Xiao Mimi obediently closed her mouth, giving Chu Fei a pitiful look like a frightened kitten.
Chu Fei had long been acquainted with Lan Youyou’s group of girls—all cunning to the extreme. He wasn’t fooled by Xiao Mimi’s act. He said calmly, “You can tag along, but I won’t be racing with you.” He assumed she wanted to stick with him for car racing.
“No racing, no racing! As long as you don’t tell me to leave,” Xiao Mimi beamed, hugging Chu Fei’s arm again as if she hadn’t just been upset.
“Let go. People are watching—it’s inappropriate,” Chu Fei was troubled by her excessive affection.
“I’m not afraid—why should you be?” Xiao Mimi was unconcerned and kept holding onto him.
Chu Fei was speechless. Yes, if she didn’t care, why should he?
With her car gone, clearly she meant to stick with him. Chu Fei simply continued walking toward Shenghe Plaza, asking, “Tell me, what’s your real reason for tagging along?”
“I don’t have any ulterior motive. I just want to get close to you, handsome master.” Xiao Mimi lifted her innocent face, looking enchanting.
“Really no ulterior motive?” Chu Fei looked at her skeptically, not believing her for a second—these girls were all sharp.
“Hehe—” Xiao Mimi became nervous under Chu Fei’s gaze, giggling awkwardly. “Actually, I do have a request, but it’s not really an ulterior motive.”
“Want me to teach you to race?” Chu Fei guessed.
“Of course not. I have no interest in racing. Only Lan Youyou—crazy as she is—loves it. I’m a lady,” Xiao Mimi said seriously.
Chu Fei’s liver ached, staring at her. A lady? Who are you kidding?
“Really, I’m not here to learn racing,” Xiao Mimi insisted, biting her lip. She finally said, “I heard from Lan Youyou that you’re amazing at fighting. Is it true?” She looked at him expectantly.
“Uh, you want me to teach you to fight?” Chu Fei was surprised. Lan Youyou knew about his skills—she’d seen them firsthand and promised not to tell anyone. He hadn’t expected her to share it with Xiao Mimi, though she didn’t know much, only that he was good at fighting.
“Yes, I want you to teach me! Lan Youyou said you’re so fierce that even ten strong men aren’t your match if you teach me a few moves,” Xiao Mimi said, visibly excited.
Chu Fei laughed, wondering how Lan Youyou had exaggerated his abilities.
But this wasn’t the time to press her. He asked curiously, “Why do you want to learn to fight? You’re a girl—what do you need such skills for?”
“I have a younger brother who bullies me every day. I want to give him a good beating,” Xiao Mimi said through gritted teeth.
The answer left Chu Fei dumbfounded. He’d considered various possibilities, but never this one—learning to fight to beat up her own brother? What a joke.
“I know it sounds odd, but it’s my biggest wish right now.” Xiao Mimi seemed to have touched on something painful, her face showing a mix of sadness and anger. “I have a brother, but he’s not my blood brother—he’s my father and stepmother’s son. My mother died when I was born, and my father soon brought home another woman. They had a son—my brother. He’s always been a fighter, and he’s bullied me from childhood. My father never stands up for me. Don’t be fooled by my flashy life outside—I suffer at home. I just want to beat that bastard up and vent. I don’t want to fight for the family fortune, I’m just fed up. Why should I be the one who gets bullied?”
Looking at the girl before him, biting her lip in rage, Chu Fei was silent. He hadn’t expected Xiao Mimi to have such secrets. People only saw the glamorous surface of wealthy children, never their real lives. If she hadn’t told him now, he would never have guessed that this seemingly carefree, busty, airheaded girl was so repressed at home.
“All right, I’ll teach you—but you must be prepared to work hard,” Chu Fei said, choosing to help her from her perspective, regardless of who her father or brother were. Whether her story was true or false, he didn’t care.
“Really?” Xiao Mimi’s eyes widened, her earlier sorrow replaced by excitement.
“Of course. Why would I lie to you?” Chu Fei smiled.
“Wahaha, that’s fantastic!” Xiao Mimi jumped for joy, then, without thinking, rushed over and hugged Chu Fei’s neck, planting a kiss on his cheek. She cried out, “Handsome master, I absolutely adore you!”
Chu Fei broke out in cold sweat. Couldn’t this girl be a little more reserved?
But to be fair, Xiao Mimi’s lips were really soft...
