Chapter 20: The Eccentric Girl Driving a Hummer
Chapter 020: The Neurotic Girl Driving a Hummer
An exquisitely seductive girl, behind the wheel of the Hummer H3, known as the "beast among cars."
Chu Fei felt as though he were in a dream, unable to comprehend how he had ended up in this vehicle.
"Damn it, what a rotten day! Next time I go out, I must consult the almanac..." The girl cursed under her breath while flooring the accelerator, then suddenly turned to Chu Fei. "Hey, say something! Or have you been scared stupid?"
Chu Fei was speechless. The girl was certainly beautiful, but the moment she opened her mouth, it was nothing but profanity. She reminded him of that rookie cop, Ling Yujiao, who had the same bad habit, though compared to this girl, Ling Yujiao seemed pure and adorable. This girl was truly the prototype for the type.
"Are you really scared stupid?" The girl glared when Chu Fei remained silent.
"Weren't you going to take me to the hospital? We just passed one," Chu Fei hurriedly spoke up as the girl rummaged around and somehow produced a steel rod. He feared if he waited any longer, she'd knock him out.
"So you aren't stupid." The girl exhaled, put the rod away reluctantly, then immediately glared at Chu Fei and shouted, "If you aren't stupid, why wouldn't you say anything? Are you trying to scare me? Do you think I'm easily frightened?"
Chu Fei broke out in cold sweat, this time for real.
"Hospital? Where's a hospital? I didn't see one." The girl finally returned to the topic, scanning the surroundings.
"The intersection we just passed," Chu Fei helpfully reminded her, sensing that she was a bit neurotic. He hesitated before suggesting, "Why don't you let me off here? I can walk to the hospital myself."
"No way! If I said I'd take you to the hospital, I will. Lan Youyou's promise is as good as gold. When have I ever gone back on my word? Are you questioning my integrity?" the girl declared loudly.
Chu Fei was sweating even more, thinking her integrity had nothing to do with the situation.
He glanced at the rearview mirror, noting the two black sedans tailing them, and asked, "Is it that you don't want to stop, or that you don't dare to stop?"
"Damn, you noticed that?" The girl looked at Chu Fei in surprise, then arrogantly tossed her head. "Don't worry, once I shake them off, I'll take you to the hospital."
Chu Fei smiled wryly. He had noticed the cars pursuing them from the start, sticking close. He doubted the girl could shake them off—if she could, she would have by now.
"Who are those people in the cars behind us? Why are they chasing you?" Chu Fei was curious.
"They're obviously the bad guys. Do I look like a bad person, as fresh and pretty as I am?" The girl glanced at Chu Fei, shaking her modest chest. Yes, modest was the word; everything about her was perfect except for her small bust, though that was likely due to her age—give it a couple of years, and she might develop impressively.
Chu Fei wiped more sweat from his brow. Her answer left him speechless. How could goodness or evil be decided by looks? What a ridiculous theory...
Seeing her relentlessly flooring the accelerator, teeth clenched in determination, Chu Fei didn't bother speculating further and said, "You won't shake them off like this."
"Thanks for stating the obvious," the girl replied, not even looking at him, her eyes darting as she contemplated something.
"Let me drive. I'll help you get rid of them," Chu Fei suggested, realizing she wouldn't stop until they lost their pursuers.
"You? You can drive?" The girl turned to him.
"I used to be a driver for a while," Chu Fei lied, just wanting to escape as soon as possible.
"Are you any good?" she asked bluntly.
"At least better than you," Chu Fei smiled.
The girl glared at him, seemingly irritated, but her eyes flickered and she said, "Fine, you drive." She promptly let go of the steering wheel.
Her sudden action nearly gave Chu Fei a heart attack. He grabbed the wheel quickly, noticing the girl twisting herself up from her seat, attempting to change seats while the car sped along. Chu Fei had no choice but to stand as well...
Luckily, the Hummer was spacious.
With considerable effort, Chu Fei finally settled into the driver's seat, breathing a sigh of relief. The seat swap had inevitably involved a few intimate contacts, making his heart race.
As for the girl, she seemed unfazed, her gaze fixed on Chu Fei, as if waiting to see how he would shake off the cars behind them. She grasped the steel rod once more, making Chu Fei's heart pound.
"Watch closely. This is how you drive, especially a beast like this Hummer..." Chu Fei composed himself and slammed the accelerator down, all the way.
The engine, already roaring like a wild beast, now thundered even more ferociously.
"God, do you have a death wish?" The girl screamed, clutching the handle, her smoky eyes wide with terror, her face pale.
About ten minutes later.
Chu Fei pulled the Hummer to a stop on a quiet roadside, hopped out, lit a cigarette, and looked back at the door.
After a while, the girl crawled out, hands braced against the vehicle as she struggled to stand upright. Her eyes stared at Chu Fei, unfocused and vacant, her whole demeanor blank as if she had been stupefied.
After another moment, her eyes gradually regained focus, then sparkled brightly. She opened her mouth and exclaimed, "Damn, were you really a driver before?"
Chu Fei glanced at her and said nothing.
"Where do they get drivers that good? Tell me, I'll become a driver too. Damn, you're amazing!" She was as excited as if she had taken something, her face full of exhilaration.
When Chu Fei didn't respond, she said, "You lied, didn't you? You're actually an underground racing legend, right?"
Chu Fei was too weary to engage with her erratic logic. He looked around and said, "I've helped you lose those people. I'm leaving." With that, he turned to go.
"Wait—" The girl hurriedly blocked his path, but her legs, still weak from the thrill, nearly gave out, making her almost collapse. Seeing Chu Fei's puzzled look, she exclaimed, "I want to become your disciple!"
Chu Fei raised an eyebrow, thunderstruck by her words.
"You're so skilled at driving. Teach me! I promise not to embarrass you," she said, her eyes full of anticipation, stubbornly holding back the "old lady" moniker she had almost uttered.
"I don't take students," Chu Fei replied, shaking his head without hesitation.
"Come on, name your terms. Whatever I have, I'll give it to you. I'll eat, drink, play, sleep with you—whatever you want. If you don't like me, I have a bunch of girlfriends, take your pick, as long as you teach me to drive..." She switched to seductive tactics.
Chu Fei broke out in cold sweat. Just then, a taxi passed by; he raised his hand and strode over without a backward glance.
"Master, you can't abandon me—" the girl shouted after him, her voice hoarse and desperate.
Chu Fei nearly stumbled onto the road, then quickly darted into the taxi and fled, truly frightened by this madwoman.
"Damn, I didn't even ask his name," the girl suddenly slapped her forehead, cursing loudly as she watched the taxi disappear.
She turned and hurried to the Hummer, apparently intending to chase after him, but as soon as she entered, she sprang back out, her delicate face twisted in disgust, muttering, "This is disgusting, the better you eat, the worse it smells—" The sour stench inside was from her own vomit earlier. She hadn't noticed it at the time, but now the odor nearly drove her mad.
She glared at the door for ten seconds, unable to muster the courage to get in. Instead, she pulled out her phone and made a call.
Within minutes, two black sedans raced up. Had Chu Fei seen them, he would've been shocked—they were the same cars that had chased the Hummer earlier.
"Miss, are you alright—" Several men of varying ages jumped out and hurried to her side, all showing her great respect. Moreover, every one of them was a skilled fighter, with the weakest already at the late stage of external force, and the leader, a middle-aged man, standing tall at the early stage of internal force.
"Are you blind? Do I look alright?" The girl scolded. The leader's expression didn't change, clearly accustomed to her temperament and foul language, showing no surprise. He frowned at the Hummer several meters away; even from that distance, he could smell the stench. He wondered about it but dared not ask.
"It's all your fault, you idiots! My master ran off because of you. You have to find him for me," she demanded, recalling Chu Fei's supernatural driving skills.
"Master?" The men were stunned, exchanging puzzled glances. When did the young lady acquire a master, and why hadn't they heard of it?
"Don't ask so many questions. Is it necessary for me to explain whether I have a master?" she retorted.
All the men lowered their heads, acknowledging her authority. She was right—they had no such privilege.
The leader forced a smile, hesitated, then braved a question, "Miss, what's your master's name? If you want us to find him, you need to give us some information."
"If I knew my master's name, would I need you useless lot?" she snapped, her eyes burning with frustration.
"Huh?" The men groaned in unison. The girl was formidable; even though they were used to her unpredictable ways, she still left them thunderstruck.
"In any case, you have three days. If you can't find my master in three days, jump in the river yourselves. I don't need useless people around me," she declared solemnly.
The men shared bitter smiles. The leader dared to ask, "Miss, to find someone, we need some details. Otherwise, how can we look?"
"That's true." This time, she didn't lose her temper but nodded thoughtfully, recalling, "My master is male, in his twenties, very handsome—the kind that makes jaws drop. Got it?"
"That's it?" The middle-aged man was dumbfounded.
"If I had more details, would I need you to look? I'd go myself," she snapped impatiently, heading toward a black sedan. "I'm tired now. Take me home, get someone to clean my car until it smells fresh, and if there's a whiff left, jump in the river."
