Chapter 122: The Woman Who Appeared Out of Nowhere
Chapter 122: The Woman Who Appeared Out of Nowhere
Jiang Yin was different from Jiang Xue; she seemed a bit afraid of him. This made Chu Fei feel a little awkward, and he found it difficult to continue the conversation.
The rest of the journey passed in silence.
Around ten in the morning, the business vehicle finally arrived at the Donghai University Town and pulled up in front of the main campus gate of Donghai University.
"We're here. You two go ahead and handle the enrollment procedures; I won't accompany you," Chu Fei said to the two girls with a smile, preparing to slip away.
"Brother Chu, are you leaving now?" Jiang Xue looked at Chu Fei with reluctance. She glanced back at her silent sister, then looked at Chu Fei again and asked, "How about this? After my sister and I finish the paperwork, let's have a meal together. Consider it a celebration for Yin-yin starting school." She looked at Chu Fei with hopeful eyes.
Chu Fei glanced at Jiang Yin, who was looking at him with the same expectant gaze, and nodded. "Alright."
In truth, he had no pressing matters. He had simply arrived early to prepare for the Fu family’s birthday banquet tomorrow. If he had anything to do, it would be to find time to meet up with Fu Ziqing, though they hadn't set a time yet—his fiancée was busier than average.
"That's great! Don't worry, Brother Chu, we'll finish the paperwork quickly and then we'll go eat. It won't take up too much of your time." Seeing Chu Fei nod, Jiang Xue immediately beamed.
Chu Fei felt a bit helpless. Was it really necessary? She was this happy just because he agreed to a meal?
He didn't say much, leaving the driver to watch the car while he accompanied the sisters into Donghai University. As they walked, he watched Jiang Xue make a phone call. They soon arrived at the administration building. Thanks to special arrangements, Jiang Yin, as a special admission student, had a unique channel for her paperwork.
"You two go up. I'll stay here and have a smoke while I wait for you," Chu Fei said, stopping at the building entrance. The sisters were too eye-catching; they had already drawn plenty of attention and whispers while walking together. He didn't want to go up and be subjected to the strange looks of the school administrators. Jiang Yin's admission was already unusual enough; if he went up with them, it would inevitably spark rumors, which wouldn't be good for the girls.
"Okay, Brother Chu, please wait a moment. We’ll hurry down," Jiang Xue said with a smile before pulling her sister into the administration building.
Once Chu Fei walked out, he realized there wasn't even a bench nearby. He had no choice but to sit on the steps to the side. He took out a cigarette, placed it in his mouth, and began to boredly observe the university architecture and the students passing by. Not far away was a small basketball court where many boys were playing, cheered on by a crowd of girls—it seemed like a match of some sort.
*Being young is nice,* Chu Fei thought with a sigh. Looking at the jumping boys and cheering girls on the court, he felt a sudden, inexplicable sense of being old.
Different experiences forge different people. Although he was only a few years older than these students, he felt like he was from an entirely different world. In Chu Fei's eyes, these energetic students were naive and laughable, yet he had to admit they were truly happy.
This couldn't help but remind him of his own wild days in high school, but unfortunately...
"Damn it—"
Just as Chu Fei was lost in reflection, he felt something hard slam into his back, causing a sharp pain. His head lurched forward as a dark shadow appeared before his eyes. A person had tumbled into him from behind, and due to the momentum, they were now tipping over his head, about to fall face-first onto the ground below the steps.
Chu Fei ignored the pain, reached out to grab the person's ankle, and with a swift tug, pulled them back into his arms, finishing with a fluid spin.
"Ah—"
Only then did the person he had saved let out a startled cry.
"What are you screaming for? You're fine," Chu Fei snapped irritably. Then, his eyes lit up. He realized the person in his arms was a beautiful woman wearing a black trench coat. Her slightly elongated, beautiful eyes were wide with shock, and her lips—a striking, vibrant red—were parted in surprise.
"Hoo—"
The woman finally regained her composure. Realizing she was being held tightly by a man, she frowned and struggled, whispering, "Let go of my ankle!"
"Uh!"
Chu Fei only then realized he was still gripping her ankle. He gave an awkward laugh and quickly let go.
"Pervert!" the woman cursed. She quickly broke free from his embrace, stood up, and dashed like a gust of wind toward a low building near the entrance.
Chu Fei was left feeling deeply aggrieved. How was he a pervert? If it hadn't been for him just now, she might not have died, but she definitely would have been disfigured. Instead of thanking him, she called him a pervert? Truly unreasonable.
Just as Chu Fei was grumbling to himself, he saw the woman dash back just as quickly as she had left. He was baffled, but then he heard her ask anxiously, "Hey, do you know anywhere around here where I can hide?"
"Hide?" Chu Fei was stunned, then realized what she meant. He shook his head. "I'm here for the first time, too. I don't know."
"You—"
The woman seemed furious, clearly thinking he was being difficult on purpose. She glared at him, muttered "Pervert" again, and turned as if to run toward another building hundreds of meters away.
But after only two steps, she turned back and bolted straight toward him, exclaiming, "It's too late!"
Before Chu Fei could ask what was too late, he saw the woman whip off her black trench coat and toss it behind him. Then, she walked right over and sat down in his lap.
*Damn, what is this? Is she trying to assault me in broad daylight?*
Chu Fei was truly stunned. The woman was only wearing a red shirt with a low collar, and the sight of her round, snowy-white cleavage left Chu Fei feeling parched.
That wasn't all. After sitting in his lap, the woman wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered, "Kiss me, quickly!"
"What?" Chu Fei hadn't reacted yet.
"Idiot!" the woman hissed. She pulled his head down with her arms, and caught off guard, Chu Fei leaned in, his lips meeting hers.
At almost the same moment, hurried footsteps echoed from the administration building's hallway, accompanied by shrill, shrewish cursing. Soon, three figures rushed out. The leader was a middle-aged woman in her forties or fifties, dressed stylishly, but with a face that could only be described as resembling a sow.
"Where is that little slut? Where did she go?"
After rushing out and failing to see who she was looking for, the middle-aged woman began to curse loudly. "You two idiots! Your reactions were so slow! Look, the bitch got away, didn't she? Where are we going to find her now?"
"Big sister, don't be angry. That little slut has seen what you're capable of now; she definitely won't dare to harass brother-in-law again," a man in his forties said fawningly.
"That's right, big sister, calm down!" another man chimed in.
"Bullshit! How can I calm down?" The middle-aged woman spat, showing no mercy even to her brothers. "It's all you two bastards. Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. If you hadn't been holding me back on purpose, I would have caught her! Did that old bastard give you some benefits? Are you helping him instead of your own sister?" The more she spoke, the angrier and more wronged she felt, until she eventually burst into tears.
"Big sister, don't be angry. We're your own brothers, how could we not help you?" the first man said with a flattering smile.
"Exactly, exactly! Second brother is right. We're your brothers; who else would we help?" the man on the right agreed.
"That's what you say! Fine, go find her now. If you don't find that little slut today, you're no longer my brothers!" the woman gritted her teeth.
The two men exchanged a helpless look. They knew that woman wasn't a "little slut" at all; their brother-in-law was such a coward that he was kept under the woman's thumb like a pig. He wouldn't have the guts to keep a mistress even if he were given a thousand chances. But they couldn't defy their sister's orders, so they nodded reluctantly.
Just then, the middle-aged woman turned her head and saw Chu Fei and the woman huddled closely together in the corner. She glanced at her brothers, then at the couple, and slowly shuffled over, craning her neck to get a better look at their faces.
"What are you looking at? Never seen people kissing before?"
When they were still three meters away, Chu Fei suddenly looked up, glaring at the three of them with a ferocious expression.
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to see, just to see..." The middle-aged woman, clearly a bully who feared the strong, shivered and immediately began to smile apologetically, though her eyes kept darting toward the woman in Chu Fei's arms.
"See? See what? Is my woman something you can just look at whenever you want? Do you believe I'll slap you?"
Chu Fei’s expression grew even more savage, his eyes narrowing as a fierce aura radiated from him.
The middle-aged woman retreated in terror, stammering, "No, no more looking, I'm sorry. We didn't mean it, we're leaving." She grabbed her two brothers and hurried away.
*Whew.*
Chu Fei finally exhaled. He looked down to see the woman in his arms peeking up at him with a smirk. Seeing him look back, she teased, "Your acting just now was quite convincing. It's a shame you aren't in the movies." She pursed her lips and smiled, looking incredibly charming.
Only then did Chu Fei realize just how stunningly beautiful this woman was. Most importantly, she possessed the aura of a mature woman. If his foster sister Bai Yan Chu was like a ripe red apple, then this woman was like a ripe honey peach. She exuded a rich, mature femininity. Given their intimate position, Chu Fei could smell the intoxicating fragrance on her—a blend of heavy perfume and her own unique, natural scent.
Chu Fei suddenly felt his throat go dry.
