"Then we can go together, right? But where are the other swing seats?"

Xi Yan looked around but could not see the other two seats. He did not understand how this "bungee jump" was supposed to accommodate multiple people at once.

The guide said mysteriously, "Aren't the seats right in front of you? This seat is quite large; it’s more than enough to hold the three of you."

The trio was currently standing on the platform of a 100-meter-high swing set. The top of this swing set featured a square platform of about three by three meters, which was the only space large enough for people to stand on. On this platform lay a large wooden board, also three meters long. The two ends of the board were attached to the high frame by two ropes; this massive board was the seat of the swing.

"Alright, the three of you can just sit here, and I will push you off," the guide said.

Xi Yan sat on the bench, half-believing and half-doubting. Seeing Xi Yan take a seat, Lin Shuang and A-Yuan followed suit.

"If any of you players dislike the feeling of falling, you are welcome to hold onto the ropes beside you," the guide added.

As soon as he finished speaking, the guide pushed them off. In mid-air, Xi Yan experienced the sensation of bungee jumping, something he had never dared to try before. But the next second, he heard Lin Shuang scream.

"Something’s wrong! Watch out!"

Just as Lin Shuang’s cry rang out, Xi Yan realized what the problem was. The ropes had snapped the moment they began their descent. If not for the fact that his physical attributes had been greatly enhanced, Xi Yan would never have noticed the issue with the ropes.

The moment the ropes broke, Lin Shuang reacted with lightning speed, unlocking a card. A massive swimming pool appeared instantly—positioned directly beneath the three of them, right where they would have plummeted to their deaths. They fell into Lin Shuang’s pool and were saved.

Seeing that they hadn't fallen to their deaths, the guide said with a look of regret, "I didn't expect your reactions to be so quick. It seems my quota for today will be difficult to meet."

Xi Yan lifted his head from the water and found that the guide had appeared beside them, looking at them with an expression of disappointment. Enraged by the guide’s words, Xi Yan immediately scrambled out of the pool and kicked him.

He had expected the guide to be knocked to the ground or to block the attack, but to Xi Yan's surprise, the guide was killed instantly by the single kick.

Staring at the corpse on the ground, Xi Yan stood frozen, not knowing what to do. Lin Shuang and A-Yuan climbed out of the pool and joined him.

Looking at the guide's body, Lin Shuang was equally bewildered. "You killed him with just one kick?"

Xi Yan nodded. "I don't know what happened. I didn't even use much force, and he just died. This swing area is very strange..."

"Brother, look at the swing..." A-Yuan’s voice trembled, tinged with fear.

Xi Yan had never seen A-Yuan scared, so he looked up in the direction A-Yuan was pointing. He saw the platform they had just occupied, which was now crowded with many figures. No, perhaps they weren't human!

Xi Yan looked closer and confirmed that they were indeed not human; they appeared to be Lost Ones. Why would Lost Ones suddenly appear on the swing frame?

"Roar!"

Before Xi Yan could think, the Lost Ones on the swing frame all leaped down at once.

Lin Shuang quickly retracted her pool card. "Don't let these disgusting things dirty my pool." The moment she reclaimed the card, she leaped to a safe position, while A-Yuan moved to stand in front of Xi Yan.

The Lost Ones began their attack the moment they landed—a blind, indiscriminate assault. They had no set targets; they were simply attacking the three in a chaotic frenzy. Xi Yan unlocked his "Light Wood Sword," and Lin Shuang unlocked her bow once more. The three began to clash with the Lost Ones.

However, they soon realized that Lost Ones were constantly leaping down from the swing frame in an endless stream. If this continued, the three of them would eventually be exhausted and killed by the sheer numbers. Fighting back-to-back, they began to search for a strategy.

"We can't go on like this; it's too passive. We must find a way to break through and get out of here," Xi Yan said.

"Easier said than done. Look at how they just keep coming from the swing frame," Lin Shuang retorted.

Just then, A-Yuan thought of a plan. After taking down a Lost One, he said to the others, "I can lure them away, then you two can escape. You just need to turn me back into a card and take me with you."

Having said this, he threw the Lost One he had just defeated into the midst of its companions, knocking a small group of them to the ground.

"But..."

"No 'buts.' Brother, my purpose is to protect you. Let me protect you, please?" A-Yuan interrupted. Looking at A-Yuan's earnest expression, Xi Yan couldn't refuse.

"Alright, that’s the plan." Xi Yan was not a hesitant person; he might waver when it came to A-Yuan, but once he made up his mind, he was incredibly decisive. "Lin Shuang, now! Let's go!"

After Lin Shuang took down the nearest Lost One, she and Xi Yan dashed toward the gap A-Yuan had created. With the surrounding Lost Ones lured away by A-Yuan, Xi Yan and Lin Shuang successfully escaped the swing frame's immediate vicinity. Xi Yan immediately turned A-Yuan back into a card and tucked him away, only to release him again a moment later.

The Lost Ones did not stop their pursuit, and the three of them had not yet left the swing area—only the immediate vicinity of the frame. As they ran, a group of snarling Lost Ones chased closely behind them. Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared in their path: a person dressed in black, wearing a black cloak.

It was the guide!

The guide spread his arms and said, "Did you think you could just leave the swing area? How troublesome. I knew today's quota wouldn't be easy to finish; I had a feeling."

As he grumbled, the guide pulled an object resembling a magic wand from his cloak. Xi Yan didn't understand how the guide could have reappeared here, but nothing in the Land of Survival made sense or followed logic.

"You disobedient players are going to start receiving your punishment now," the guide said, his words sending a chill down their spines and making their hair stand on end.
