Wang Fei plopped down heavily on the sofa, shooting a disdainful look at Si Shaozhe, who was cautiously curling up like a child caught in wrongdoing. Wang Fei couldn’t help but roll his eyes—was this kid really putting on an act?

The waiter brought over three full glasses of wine and placed them in front of Si Shaozhe. But he recoiled, his whole body trembling with fear, raising a hand in refusal. “No, thank you.”

It wasn’t pretend fear; this was genuine. Despite being the underground rap king, he was truly a timid, innocent boy who wouldn’t even dare to eat something nasty normally!

He was, after all, the most well-behaved and obedient artist in his manager’s eyes.

“To be honest, I’m really afraid my sister might show up…” Si Shaozhe looked pitiful, his trembling voice on the verge of tears.

“Ah? No way, no way. The underground king is actually a good boy? If this gets out, won’t the rap circle gang up on you?” Lin Yu teased him with a sly grin, and Wang Fei quickly added,

“Don’t worry, we’d never lie in front of your sister. If she asks where you went…”

The two exchanged mischievous smiles and spoke in unison, “We absolutely won’t lie! You can rest easy!”

Rest easy? What kind of rest easy was that?

Si Shaozhe’s face suddenly drained of color. “You two little rascals, do you think I’m a fool?”

Wang Fei burst out laughing at his cowardly act and snatched off his mask playfully.

While they were joking around, the two only wore caps and masks, but this kid had even donned sunglasses. Wang Fei grabbed them off and exclaimed,

“Oh wow, these are the new Donkey Brand ones! You’re loaded, underground king!”

Seeing Si Shaozhe’s pitiful expression, Wang Fei softened and patted his shoulder reassuringly.

“All right, all right, no more teasing.”

“Coming out for a drink should be fun. Always scared of this and that—are you really that whipped?”

Recalling the driver’s question when they got in the car, it was the perfect jab at Si Shaozhe, who had been acting aloof but was really a scared little clown.

Si Shaozhe panicked.

Though not his biological sister, the woman managing him was like a distant relative—the kind who’d beat him mercilessly if he slipped up. When he first entered the entertainment industry with dreams of glory, the company assigned his manager, who happened to be his cousin from years ago.

And the result…

Who says only biological sisters can hit their brothers? This distant cousin was a special exception!

One mistake or a single misunderstood word, and she would beat him mercilessly without a shred of mercy.

“Please, you two ancestors, spare me…”

“If it’s really bad, just find a late-night barbecue stall to eat and drink.”

His ears were still sore from yesterday’s scolding; he didn’t dare provoke her again.

Wang Fei handed a bottle of foreign liquor to Lin Yu and poured a full glass to Si Shaozhe’s lips.

“Hey, don’t worry, we’re tight-lipped—we won’t spill a thing!”

“You just keep your worries to yourself!”

Lin Yu had already started drinking, but Si Shaozhe hesitated, gripping the glass tightly, feeling forced to go along.

“I... alright!”

Finally resigned, he opened his mouth and let them pour the wine in, thinking, It’s not like I’m drinking willingly; if anyone’s to blame, it’s them for pouring so much!

Once down the first sip, he couldn’t stop.

One glass followed another!

Cheers, brothers! What’s there to fear from women or being whipped? Does that even exist between siblings? If you don’t drink, where will China’s good wine go? If you don’t get drunk, who will sleep on the streets?

Tonight, he’d throw back a few shots, proud and carefree, and worry about the consequences later!

After a mouthful of the harsh liquor, Si Shaozhe, not much of a drinker, grew dizzy. He dropped his glass, grabbed the bottle from Lin Yu, and shouted,

“Bottoms up! Bottoms up!”

“Bring a bowl! Can you guys drink with cups? Who drinks with a cup? It’s always bowls! If you can’t do that, drink with the dogs!”

...

The three drank heartily, chatting about everyday life. Except for Si Shaozhe, who occasionally blurted out nonsense in his drunken haze, the nightlife was quite enjoyable.

Among them, Wang Fei probably had the best tolerance. Being the first to enter the entertainment world, he’d been through plenty of rough patches. Si Shaozhe was knocked out after a few drinks, Lin Yu was starting to get fuzzy, and only Wang Fei remained somewhat sober.

“More drinks?”

Hearing this, Si Shaozhe jumped up from the sofa, pointing at the bottles on the table.

“Who said I can’t? Bring me a case! Real men, uh, just gotta stomp—stomp on the case!!”

Now he was slurring nonsense—stomping on a case? Lin Yu chuckled, thinking he might end up face down on the floor stomping on the box.

Wang Fei waved over the waiter and had a bottle of cola handed to Si Shaozhe. He gripped it tightly, too drunk to recognize the can’s appearance.

But he noticed Lin Yu and Wang Fei laughing as they clinked glasses.

That didn’t sit well with him.

“Hey, you two, uh—acting like I don’t exist, huh?”

“I—I want to, uh—drink too.”

A little sulky, he didn’t join the toast but tilted his head back and took a sip of the cola.

Suddenly noticing the taste was off, he frowned and tried to see the label clearly but the can seemed to split into several.

“This drink… uh, something’s wrong… uh, so fizzy?”

“Hey, I’m super, uh—an illusionist? Uh—imported?”

The two burst out laughing at his drunken antics. Si Shaozhe was quite entertaining.

He slumped on the sofa in a daze. Lin Yu waved to get a blanket to help him sober up, but suddenly the kid sprang up like a carp flipping, his temper flaring for no reason.

Raising his voice, he pointed at the stage and shouted curses.

“What kind of nonsense is that singing? Uh—dog barks sound better!”

“Get down! Get down! Uh! Let me sing!”

The other patrons overheard and gathered around, wondering who the drunken fool was—wasn’t the singer doing quite well?

Lin Yu quickly pulled Si Shaozhe down, while Wang Fei stepped aside to shield them and avoid revealing their identities.

But Si Shaozhe went completely wild.

“Oh come on, bro! Uh!! No, let me do it!”

Wang Fei was dumbfounded. Was this kid not afraid of making headlines for embarrassing himself?

“Quiet, I’ll sing for you.”

The host seemed to take responsibility.

After all, the manager wouldn’t scold him too harshly—at worst, buy her dinner and it’d be fine.

Lin Yu blocked his way, saying, “Don’t mind him. You’re high status, experienced, so you buy the drinks and I’ll handle the aftermath.”

That line almost moved Wang Fei to tears.

Young people these days really do respect their elders, it seems!
