After a few pleasantries, it was time to part ways.

Lin Yu followed Ji Ya, listening as she explained the arrangements for his upcoming work. The two chatted happily, until they suddenly realized they seemed to have forgotten something...

When they turned around, Su Xiaolin was standing at the company entrance, staring blankly at Lin Yu, who had walked away only to turn back. She looked as though tears were about to burst from her eyes!

Good heavens! These two heartless ingrates had finally remembered she existed, hadn’t they?!

She was so touched she could cry!

The following morning, after visiting the modeling agency, Lin Yu returned to the Ji Fei conference room, where he and Ji Ya discussed the next stage of his work.

Su Xiaolin had arranged the afternoon’s music-video shoot. The location was the seaside: the approach of dusk, the shore, a bicycle, and a pure, beautiful female lead.

Filmed with professional equipment, the romantic scenes would give viewers the impression of returning to the freshness of their youth.

Lin Yu rejected the originally planned romantic scenes with a single vote.

Su Xiaolin and Ji Ya turned their curious profiles toward him. “If you’re not satisfied, you can choose something else. The company has plenty of—”

Lin Yu waved his hand. “Why make things so complicated?”

With a smile at the corners of his mouth, he took Ji Ya by the hand and headed straight for the dressing room.

He handed her the outfit they had just selected for the female lead. Once she put it on, she truly looked like a sweet eighteen-year-old girl.

Ji Ya stared at herself in the mirror, embarrassed and dazed. Ah... Had she really once been this young and beautiful?

“Why do you look as if you’ve never seen yourself before?”

Lin Yu was amused by her expression, but quietly pressed the shutter, capturing her innocent, bewildered look.

It was a rare photograph. Normally, Ji Ya was always the lofty, formidable president of the company!

“I’ve never filmed a music video before.”

Ji Ya had assumed Lin Yu was joking when he said he wanted her to appear in the video with him. She had never expected him to be serious.

The matter was rather embarrassing for her.

When had the lofty company president ever cooperated with one of her subordinates in front of a camera? She had not exactly refused him outright, though.

Lin Yu smiled. “Everything has a first time. Besides, it won’t hurt. Don’t worry.”

Ji Ya: “???”

What kind of outrageous thing was that supposed to mean?!

The two stepped in front of the camera.

Following the cameraman’s instructions, they performed various actions together.

This music video was being filmed to accompany Lin Yu’s new song. The opening scenes were centered around romance.

At the cameraman’s command of “Three, two, one,” Lin Yu rode the bicycle while Ji Ya sat on the back, swinging her slender, shapely legs. Beneath the setting sun, seagulls soared across the sea.

It was a breathtakingly romantic scene: a young couple riding a bicycle along the shore, the image beautiful enough to make one sigh.

The camera angle changed. Lin Yu held Ji Ya’s hand as they walked beside the sea. Suddenly, she crouched down and mischievously tossed sand at him before turning and running away with a giggle.

He chased after her.

Before the horizon, a happy couple played together. She teased him, he laughed—their sweetness filled the scene with longing and envy.

When he caught up with her, he gently drew her into his arms, his eyes overflowing with irrepressible affection. She mischievously leaped onto him and rubbed her face against his, the smile on her lips impossible to suppress.

Her legs were wrapped around his sturdy waist, soft against hard. Lin Yu could not help swallowing.

Who could withstand such temptation?

“Cut!”

Lin Yu gently set her down, as though she were an extraordinarily precious treasure. His heart was full of reluctance, though he showed none of it on his face. Ji Ya, on the other hand, turned away with her cheeks burning.

“How do you think I performed?”

She leaned close to his ear and asked in a soft voice, the smile at the corners of her lips impossible to contain.

“Not bad.”

“What does ‘not bad’ mean?”

“No one else could compare.”

“So you mean you like me?”

“Not bad.”

His half-joking words nevertheless carried a trace of sincerity.

Lin Yu and Ji Ya turned their faces away at the same time. Neither admitted anything, but their playful tone had already revealed the truth in their hearts.

The cameraman and the other staff members watching from either side all felt as though they were standing beside a several-kilowatt lightbulb. They probably should not have been there at all. Perhaps they belonged in a car instead?

Ji Ya snorted, breaking the awkward silence. “You little rascal!”

She grabbed his ear and scolded him angrily. “You were making fun of your boss again, weren’t you? I’ll beat you to death!”

The pain in his ear filled Lin Yu with grievance. He blinked his innocent, wide eyes. Admitting fault was impossible. What was there between the two of them that could not be said?

“How did I tease you?”

His question left Ji Ya at a loss for words.

He wore a triumphant expression. “If you have no evidence, I’m afraid I’ll have to sue you for defamation!”

Ji Ya spat dismissively. “I’m your boss. If you dare sue me, I’ll cut your salary in half!”

Lin Yu: “???”

Damn those evil capitalists!

“Unless...”

Ji Ya rose onto her toes and leaned close to his ear, a teasing smile playing across her lips.

“You... sell your body and your talents.”

Lin Yu nervously folded his arms across his chest and stared warily at his suddenly feverish boss.

“Th-That won’t do!”

The smile on Ji Ya’s lips grew increasingly smug. “It’s not up to you to say whether it will do.”

“Besides, how can a man say he won’t?”

Lin Yu: “???” What?

Wait...

“Besides, from the moment you joined the company, I had already investigated everything about you—including your endurance and your size.”

Lin Yu: “???”

“You’re not letting your imagination run wild, are you?”

The smile on Ji Ya’s lips became more wicked, while the blush gradually spreading across her face betrayed her.

As though he had discovered a crucial flaw, Lin Yu wore an expression of utter shock, like an explorer who had just found a new continent.

What?

So her composure had all been an act? The boss was actually embarrassed by this sort of conversation too?!

A sea breeze swept past, lifting the girl’s long hair. Her delicate cheeks were tinged with shyness, radiating the unique tenderness and innocence of youth. With her head slightly bowed and a bashful smile on her face, she looked like the unreachable dream of countless boys in their younger years.

What kind of act were these two putting on now, singing the same tune?

Su Xiaolin patted one of the staff members on the shoulder and pointed the camera toward Lin Yu and Ji Ya. One had lowered his head shyly, while the other looked down at him.

That scene was simply too suggestive!

They were not acting at all. Their chemistry felt completely genuine!

After packing everything away, they headed to the next filming location.

The next shoot took place in a plaza. Lin Yu had already changed into his school uniform and was waiting outside the frame. Ji Ya needed to change into two outfits. The first was a short top and short skirt from her school days.

“Ready—action!”

Wearing a sailor-style school uniform, Ji Ya saw Lin Yu enter the frame and immediately ran toward him with a smile. Lin Yu likewise opened his arms, ready to receive her embrace.
