Chapter 27: The Ancestor's Teachings
"Dream on!"
Bai Yufeng's face twisted, and he gritted his teeth, snarling, "You want us to leave our swords and storage rings? How is that even possible? Let's go!"
With that, he turned, intending to lead his men out of the tavern.
"You're asking for trouble!"
Luo Li’s beautiful face turned pale with fury. It was her first time playing the "villain," and the fact that her threats had failed to intimidate them made her incredibly annoyed.
"Senior Sister, we absolutely cannot let them leave!" Jun Muxiao shouted, charging after Bai Yufeng and his group.
Luo Li’s expression sharpened, and she followed closely behind.
*Swish! Swish!*
Sword light surged forth like a tidal wave. The disciples of the Blood Garment Sect suffered several more bloody gashes, their wounds deepening until they were completely incapacitated. Jun Muxiao forcibly stripped them of their storage rings and the swords they held.
"You may go now."
Luo Li frowned, looking at the third floor, which was now covered in blood. This tavern was run by ordinary people, and small businesses were not easy to maintain. Besides, their Ancestor was still dining, and it wouldn't be appropriate to kill everyone here. Thus, she suppressed her urge to finish them off.
Bai Yufeng, having been struck by seven or eight sword blows, grew increasingly pale, yet his eyes still burned with arrogant madness.
"You... just you wait!"
He spat out a threat before leading his fellow disciples in a hasty retreat from the tavern.
"Wait, then. Let’s see what you can actually do," Jun Muxiao sneered, putting away his sword.
Returning to the private room, they found Ye Yun looking at them with a faint smile.
Luo Li felt ashamed and said, "Ancestor, the commotion outside was quite loud. Did it disturb your meal?"
Ye Yun set down his chopsticks, his expression serene as he spoke in a measured tone.
"Does this place have a branch of the Blood Garment Sect?"
"It should..." Luo Li thought for a moment and nodded quickly. She remembered that Guyun City was indeed under the influence of the Blood Garment Sect and housed one of their branches.
"What was the last thing he said to you?" Ye Yun asked gently with a light smile.
"He told me to wait." Luo Li puffed out her chest, looking proud. "I'm not afraid. What does it matter if they call for more people?"
"Luo Li." Ye Yun looked up, his gaze soft as he said calmly, "Time waits for no one. There is no need for you to wait either. Just go straight to the Blood Garment Sect’s branch and wipe them out! Why wait? It’s completely redundant."
Luo Li blinked, a flash of insight crossing her mind.
"I was wrong!" Luo Li said, looking ashamed as she nodded heavily. "Ancestor, you are right. Time waits for no one. Why wait? Once a grudge is formed, just strike them down!"
"You are teachable." Ye Yun chuckled and picked up his chopsticks again. In his heart, whoever provoked him would be eradicated, regardless of who they were. Even if it were the Heavenly Dao itself, if it angered him, he would shatter it just the same.
Having received the Ancestor’s approval, Luo Li and Jun Muxiao hurried downstairs. Just as they reached the entrance, a warm voice reached their ears.
"Take the carriage."
"Understood, Ancestor." Luo Li chuckled instantly. It seemed the Ancestor had prepared a backup plan for them after all.
This black carriage was an extraordinary divine artifact, and the black horse pulling it had a mysterious and terrifying origin. To this day, Luo Li still didn't know what level of cultivation the horse had reached, but she suspected that even a master at the Soul Sculpting Realm would be no match for it.
Luo Li and Jun Muxiao boarded the carriage and sped toward the Blood Garment Sect’s branch. Before long, she spotted a few familiar figures. As the black carriage galloped past, it suddenly came to a halt. A beautiful face leaned out from the carriage.
When Bai Yufeng saw Luo Li, he was shocked. "We gave you the swords and storage rings! Are you still not satisfied?"
"Stop calling for reinforcements; we are heading straight to your branch!" Luo Li arched an eyebrow and let out a cold laugh.
*Clatter!*
The sound of hooves rang out. The black carriage surged forward and vanished from their sight.
"Senior Brother Bai, do those two really dare to go to the branch?" a young man asked.
"Those idiots! Even if they are strong, our branch has an elder at the Soul Sculpting Realm sitting in command!" Bai Yufeng gritted his teeth, his voice filled with spite. He was practically hoping the two would go to the branch to throw their lives away.
"Haha..." The other disciples laughed, though the movement caused their wounds to bleed profusely.
The Blood Garment Sect’s branch was in the North District, while the tavern had been in the South. Riding the carriage, the two arrived quickly.
"Who goes there? Stop!"
Seeing the mysterious black carriage speeding toward them, two gate guards at the Profound Core Realm immediately blocked the entrance.
"Get out of the way!" Luo Li swung her sword, unleashing two streaks of sword energy. The two guards were struck and collapsed to the ground, unable to rise.
*Boom!*
The black carriage smashed through the gates of the Blood Garment Sect’s branch and barreled inside. Seeing the black horse’s ferocity, Jun Muxiao felt an intense surge of excitement; a smile spread across his face, though his body trembled slightly.
"Senior Sister, why do I feel so excited?"
"Because you aren't actually a bad person," Luo Li replied with a giggle, holding her sword high.
Jun Muxiao looked at the crowd surging toward them and laughed self-deprecatingly. "Perhaps it's because we were weak for so long and used to being bullied. This time... we can finally hold our heads high."
Luo Li smiled. "We are not bloodthirsty. If these people are sensible and surrender their weapons and storage rings, we can spare their lives. But if they intend to kill, show no mercy! Slay them with one strike!"
"Understood!" Jun Muxiao nodded.
"Junior Brother..." Luo Li looked in a certain direction, her face full of adoration. "When the Ancestor blew a single breath of pure energy, everyone at Ghost Ridge was reduced to ash. We must strive to have that same spirit."
"Senior Sister, you are right." A look of realization dawned on Jun Muxiao’s face. His Sword Heart became clearer than ever.
After the black carriage entered the plaza, many disciples of the Blood Garment Sect rushed out, staring at the carriage in shock and boiling with rage. How could these two teenagers at the Origin Sea Realm be so arrogant? They had actually driven a carriage through the gates of their branch! This was a grave provocation.
"Who are you?" An emaciated, elderly man in blood-red robes stepped out from the crowd, his gaze cold and stern.
"You are not worthy of knowing!" Luo Li’s eyes were like frost, her tone decisive. She stared at the Elder, who was at the first level of the Soul Sculpting Realm, and said coolly, "The disciples of the Blood Garment Sect are arrogant and domineering, and it is high time you were punished. Drop your weapons, hand over your storage rings, and run for your lives!"
Upon hearing Luo Li’s words, the Soul Sculpting Realm Elder trembled with rage, his withered, sallow face turning as pale as frost.
