Lin Tiancheng did not care about Lin Mo’s feelings. As long as Lin Mo was willing to be obediently submissive, she would remain a good daughter in his eyes.

"Listen to your mother, and in the future, whatever Wanwan has, you will have too."

Lin Mo scoffed inwardly, but wore a compliant expression: "I understand, Dad."

"Spare the rod and spoil the child, they say," Qin Lian thought with a sense of triumph. Lin Mo had been so disobedient before, but now she had finally learned her place. It was all thanks to her own excellent upbringing.

Lin Yunhe asked, "Wanwan, we're going for a drive. Have you decided where you want to go?"

"Of course," Lin Wan smiled. "Let’s go to my university! You haven't seen my campus yet, have you? It’s so beautiful. You all have to take pictures of me so I can post them on social media."

Lin Yunhe chuckled helplessly: "You and your pictures, little girl."

"My equipment is top-notch this time! Look at this camera; Fifth Brother bought it for me."

Lin Qinglang added, "Fine, as long as you're happy."

Lin Hen glanced at the somewhat numb Lin Mo. "Wanwan, don't be too high-profile. Maybe we shouldn't go to A University today."

Qin Lian disagreed: "I want to see it too. Let’s go. What’s wrong with visiting the place where Wanwan will be studying for the next four years? It’s hardly being high-profile."

Forcing the family to drive to A University—a place that served as a painful reminder of everything taken from her—was salt in the wound for Lin Mo. Fortunately, she no longer cared.

The family headed out in two cars. Lin Wan sat in the driver's seat, while Lin Mo was in the passenger seat. In the back, the third, fourth, and fifth brothers sat in a row, all casting cold, scrutinizing glares at Lin Mo.

Lin Jianchen warned: "Lin Mo, it’s rare for the whole family to be out together. Don't you dare pull any stunts."

"Sigh..." Lin Mo laughed self-deprecatingly. "Third Brother, is that the kind of person you think I am? What’s done is done; I have no desire to stir up trouble."

Lin Jianchen remained unconvinced. Given how many times Lin Mo had hurt Wanwan, he didn't believe she could have suddenly changed her nature. She was likely plotting something malicious.

Lin Juan added in a detached tone: "As long as you understand that, good. Repeating a year of school isn't that difficult for you. Don't let a small setback cloud your judgment."

The cars began to move. Lin Qinglang remarked: "Second Brother, this car is quite something. He’s certainly generous. It must have cost more than 500,000, right?"

Lin Wan feigned ignorance: "Second Brother said he was gifting me a 500,000 car, so it shouldn't be more than that. I’m just going to school; if I drive something too flashy, I’m afraid my classmates won't want to hang out with me."

Lin Jianchen knew better: "This car is worth 1.2 million."

"1.2 million?!" Lin Wan gloated internally, having already checked the price herself, but she put on a look of distress. "Why is Second Brother like this? Doesn't he only make about ten million a year from his dealership? He shouldn't be spending so much on me. I really need to have a word with him next time!"

She acted as if her heart ached: "Second Brother spends so little on himself, yet he always buys me such expensive things."

Lin Juan leaned back in his seat: "He dotes on you, so just accept it. You’re the only sister he has; if he doesn't spend his money on you, who would he spend it on?"

Lin Mo turned her head, staring blankly at the scenery outside. Lin Wan found it amusing; seeing Lin Mo’s indifferent facade, she knew the girl was merely putting on a brave face. She was likely suffering tremendously inside.

The cars soon arrived at A University. Classes hadn't officially started yet, but many students were already on campus. As the luxury vehicle pulled in, it drew many gazes. Once the car stopped, Lin Wan stepped out from the driver's seat.

Nearby, people whispered: "That girl is so pretty, and her car looks expensive. Which wealthy family's heir is this?"

"And the three men who got out? They're so handsome!"

"Wow, are they all students here?"

"Doesn't look like it. It seems they're just dropping her off."

"I'm so jealous; what kind of treatment is that?"

Hearing the envy of the onlookers, Lin Wan felt even more smug. She deliberately walked over and linked her arms with her brothers. "Third Brother, you’re always so busy; you must haven't wandered around a campus in ages. Come walk with me."

Lin Juan patted Lin Wan’s head: "Alright."

Someone recognized him: "Isn't that the CEO of the Lin Group? I saw his picture on the trending lists after he attended that event—it even went viral internationally."

"That powerful? He really has the looks and the talent to match."

The occupants of the second car stepped out as well. Bathed in the envious and jealous gazes of the crowd, Lin Wan stood tall, feeling triumphant. Lin Mo stood off to the side, looking drab and colorless, as if she were merely a prop to highlight Lin Wan’s radiance.

After walking for a while, Lin Wan said, "Momo, I will definitely study hard and not let your kindness go to waste. I promise that for the next four years of university, I’ll get good grades and win scholarships every year."

Lin Wan’s eyes sparkled with ambition. Qin Lian laughed: "As long as you have that confidence, Wanwan. As for scholarships, our family isn't exactly short on money."

"You can't say that, Mom. This was an opportunity Momo gave up for me; I must cherish it."

Lin Mo offered a stiff, insincere smile. She found the remark deeply piercing.

A University was a prestigious institution—the best in the province. It was vast, well-equipped, and possessed a vibrant academic atmosphere. Walking through the campus, Lin Mo felt that the environment here was vastly different from the harshness of the outside world. She knew she couldn't afford to lose such a vital chapter of her life.

Lin Wan trotted over to catch up, holding two bottles of water. "Momo, have some water. You must be hot, right?"

The two sisters walked at the front. The family members behind them watched with satisfaction, believing this was how sisters should be—harmonious and loving. In reality, their conversation was completely at odds with that peaceful image.

"Momo, you must be feeling terrible, right? This was supposed to be your school."

"Who knows? Maybe you won't even be able to get in next time."

"Even after resisting for so long, this spot still had to be mine."

Lin Mo’s heart sank, her breath carrying a hint of mockery. "Then you had better enjoy it while it lasts, lest you end up with nothing."

Lin Wan replied without hesitation: "End up with nothing? That won't happen. Mom and Dad dote on me, and my brothers grant my every wish. I am the one studying here now, Lin Mo, not you. Even your fiancé follows me around like a lapdog; I don't know who is going to end up with nothing."

Lin Wan’s face was filled with contempt. She was the true victor. "If I were you, I’d just head back to the countryside and stop being an eyesore here. Don't you think?"

Lin Mo glanced at her. Lin Wan had already skipped back to the side of her parents and brothers. Between them lay the shadows of the trees, acting as a natural divide that isolated them into two different worlds.

Lin Mo curled the corner of her lips: "Soon enough, I won't have to force myself to watch this display of 'filial piety' anymore."
