That arrow truly couldn’t harm Satoru Gojo; Takizawa Sei’s protection was merely an instinctive reaction, just as it had been countless times before when he stood in front of him.

In truth, the Six Eyes had always been formidable. Even in his childhood, he was an undisputed prodigy. Yet this did not stop Takizawa Sei from desperately trying to shield him flawlessly. Partners and tools had mission time limits spanning years or decades, and the results of personality assessments by their superiors had already sealed Takizawa’s fate—he couldn’t play tricks, cheat, deceive, or betray.

He would first treat his mission target as a lifelong companion, a close friend, a brother.

Takizawa Sei couldn’t exactly pinpoint when his relationship with Satoru Gojo improved, but before he knew it, they had become inseparable and confided in each other completely.

When Satoru Gojo was eleven years old, he faced his first large-scale assassination attempt since birth—his head carried a high bounty among the cursed sorcerers, and he was still just a small child. The emergence of the Six Eyes had altered the balance of the world; cursed spirits grew stronger and more violent than ever. The Gojo family revered him as a divine child, but some believed that the world would be better off if the Six Eyes were to die. His birth brought disaster; his very existence was the source of instability.

When they were attacked by over a dozen assailants, Takizawa fought fiercely until bloodied and battered, stabbing his enemies mercilessly. When he regained his senses, he looked up to find Satoru Gojo standing before him, with a pile of fallen cursed sorcerers behind him.

His eyes shone with a captivating power. Though marked by signs of battle, he did not appear as disheveled as Takizawa himself.

Takizawa smiled with satisfaction, reaching out to sweep Gojo’s blood-stained white hair back, blood trickling down his eyelids and turning his eyeballs red.

The discomfort made Takizawa frown and bend over, covering his eyes. “Ouch, that hurts…”

Gojo stared at him for half a second, then suddenly pressed a palm against his forehead, forcefully lifting his eyelid with his thumb, while his other hand poked at Takizawa’s eye, commanding firmly, “Take it off.”

Takizawa struggled, “You’re trying to kill me! I’ll do it myself, I’ll do it!”

He pried open Gojo’s hand and removed the slightly slippery contact lens himself.

It was blue. After putting it on, Takizawa’s iris was almost indistinguishable from Gojo’s.

Gojo pinched the lens and tossed it aside. “Don’t wear them anymore.”

While wiping his eyes, Takizawa said, “Actually, I think they looked pretty good.”

Gojo gave him a disdainful look but no comment. He kicked a fallen cursed sorcerer, sent a message to his family, and then pulled Takizawa along. “I want some mochi.”

“All the stores are closed at this hour.”

“...”

“Fine. Actually, I’ve secretly studied how to make those... But when did you find out?”

Takizawa caught Gojo’s sparkling gaze and conceded, “Tell Mr. Hiroya to prepare the ingredients...”

Returning to the present, Takizawa examined the arrow used in the ambush.

It was a special cursed tool. Takizawa felt a tingling sensation in his thumb and knew without looking that the palm of his hand was scraped. Only when Gojo reminded him did he recall that the Six Eyes’ limitless power could now be constantly activated—no need for charging or worrying about energy depletion—truly evolved into the strongest.

Putting that aside, the arrow had interrupted their profoundly heartfelt reunion. Takizawa tossed the cursed tool to the auxiliary supervisor and looked at Gojo with shining eyes.

His height hadn’t changed much, his face still handsome, neither overweight nor scarred. He looked a bit more mature and angular compared to his youth. His soft white hair lay over his forehead, making his Six Eyes appear exceptionally clear and transparent.

Takizawa couldn’t understand what was wrong with Gojo. At such a moving moment—he had just come back from the dead—Gojo didn’t show joy or relief. His expression was so calm it was as if he didn’t recognize him. He barely made eye contact and merely gave him a perfunctory hug before turning to handle the current situation.

Takizawa remained standing with arms outstretched like a fool, wanting to stomp his feet, “Is that it? That’s all? You’re so cold you can’t even hug me with both hands!”

Strange, strange. Was the memory of Gojo going on a rampage because he thought Takizawa would die just a delusion?

“A hug? Tears?! Shouldn’t there be at least a ‘You’re back!’ from you?!”

The young master Gojo lightly ignored his words. Takizawa glanced at the curious auxiliary supervisor and choked back his sentimental tears, then hurried to Gojo’s side, eyes red as he said seriously, “The one who attacked him has a Roland-like tattoo. He must be from the cursed sorcerer gang ‘A.’ Hasn’t that group been fully wiped out yet? That kid looks badly injured.”

The cursed sorcerer on the ground struggled and rolled over weakly. “Ugh...”

Gojo’s voice was low. “His throat is broken, that’s why he’s coughing up blood. It only looks severe.”

He grabbed Toge Inumaki and swung him onto his shoulder. For a moment, Toge’s expression seemed reluctant to be carried.

Takizawa felt a pang of concern. “Be gentle. Can’t you carry him more tenderly? He just barely escaped death’s door.”

Gojo said matter-of-factly, “He won’t die with you around.”

Takizawa was deeply moved by his trust. “Though I do have a kind heart and would definitely draw my sword to help, I don’t have any handy cursed tools at the moment...”

“Wasn’t that passerby from group A defeated because you stole his weapon and turned it against him?”

Takizawa emphasized, “I didn’t kill him. That thing is for you all to handle.”

He now had a lawful, clean status, free from the constraints of the sorcery world and unmonitored by any shady powers. Apart from owing a large favor to the benevolent Matsuda Jinpei, Takizawa dared to proclaim a bright and promising future!

Gojo glanced at him absentmindedly. Takizawa hastily stood straighter. “What are you looking at? Admiring how much more handsome I’ve become?”

Gojo: “...That’s impossible.”

Takizawa: “Slightly.”

They put the injured into the auxiliary supervisor’s car. Takizawa instinctively tried to get in but was pulled out by Gojo who grabbed the back of his collar.

“Why are you going in?”

Takizawa looked puzzled. “To go back with you?”

“...”

Another bout of silence that made Takizawa uneasy.

What was wrong with Gojo? Had he turned into a sulky, tight-lipped person?

Takizawa cursed silently and once again felt the gaze of the Six Eyes upon him.

Gojo sent the auxiliary supervisor off. This area was so desolate there wasn’t even a passing vehicle; his stance clearly indicated he intended to take a wild walk.

As the car was about to leave, Takizawa hurriedly called it to a stop. “Wait, wait.” He ran back to the halted train and soon returned with a bag—Toge’s recent shopping haul, which Takizawa had casually tossed under the seat, still intact.

He placed the shopping bag in the back seat and tidied Toge’s clothes inside the car, kindly wiping the blood from his chin. Facing the young man’s hesitant gaze, he comforted him, “Rest well. I’m just catching up with your teacher.”

The white-haired youth shakily gave him an “OK” gesture.

After arranging everything, Takizawa naturally went to find Gojo. While he was talking with Toge, Gojo had already left, leaving only a strikingly handsome back view.

Such a stingy guy, not even waiting for me.

Takizawa hurried a few steps and grabbed his hand. “...Are you angry?”

He wondered, “Why would you be mad? I didn’t do anything to upset you.”
