He could remember such a trivial thing so clearly...

Cen Mo silently complained in her mind but stood there without saying a word. She was pondering what exactly had caused her to be recognized.

The only thing she was sure of was that she hadn’t spoken much this time.

That was puzzling.

Seeing the woman blinking her eyes nervously in front of him, Su Xingzhi narrowed his eyes slightly and leaned in closer. “What, don’t want to admit it?”

Cen Mo glanced upward; the brim of his hat was almost touching her forehead. What on earth was he trying to do?

The next second, she noticed the man’s nose close to her body, lightly sniffing. “It’s this scent, no doubt about it.”

So, he identified her by her scent this time? Was he a police dog?

At this point, denial was impossible. She had to choose her words carefully. “Sorry, President Su, I didn’t recognize you with the hat on.”

“Is that so?” Under the dim light, the man stared at her for a moment, then straightened up. His tall figure was intimidating. “Was it like this last time too?”

His slender fingers slowly made a ‘shush’ gesture toward his lips.

“...” Cen Mo was utterly speechless.

“Sorry, President Su. I thought you wouldn’t recognize me, so I took a chance.”

There was no way to hide it now. In moments like this, honesty and admitting fault was better.

“Let’s go. The car’s outside.” Seeing her sincere attitude, Su Xingzhi nodded and turned to leave.

“Car?” Cen Mo paused. “President Su, I haven’t finished my work yet...”

She wanted to say more, but catching his gaze, she wisely kept quiet. She obediently went to the back to grab her bag, greeted briefly, and headed out of the bar.

“Hi, can I get your WeChat?” A long-haired girl blushed and shyly approached.

“Me?” Cen Mo stopped for a moment. She recognized the girl vaguely; she’d been lingering near the bar, seeming hesitant.

So she wanted contact information.

But Cen Mo wasn’t naive. Seeing the girl’s flushed face, she understood and smiled. “Sorry, I’m not convenient to use my phone right now.”

That was clearly a refusal. The girl’s expression quickly fell; she lowered her head, almost on the verge of tears. “Sorry, I really like you.”

“No problem. I hope you find someone you truly like.” Since the girl was so vulnerable, Cen Mo comforted her and patted her shoulder before continuing outside.

She thought Su Xingzhi had gone to the car already, but when she looked up, he was standing at the bar’s entrance, glaring at her with displeasure.

...

Su Xingzhi actually spotted Cen Mo as soon as he entered the bar.

He rarely came to such places; the noise and crowd made him uncomfortable, fearful of bumping into strangers.

Tonight, he was only here to pick up Su Miao.

But before he found that crew-cut girl, the cool, handsome bartender immediately caught his eye.

It was strange—this huge bar, packed with people, yet only one person drew his attention. That graceful figure seemed to deliberately invade his vision, relentlessly attracting him.

Sneaking out of the company to moonlight was one thing, but what was up with her hairstyle? No wonder she always kept her hair down before—it was shaved halfway underneath.

The shaved part aside, she had two lines shaved into the sides? That made the nearby girls shy and timid, their eyes glued to her.

Those guys around here couldn’t flirt with girls as well as she could.

Seeing Cen Mo leave to escort a friend, Su Xingzhi went to look around and quickly recognized Su Miao by her signature crew cut and earrings.

When Cen Mo returned, she didn’t avoid him; he wanted to see how she’d react. The answer was obvious—she gave a standard fake smile and calmly passed by him.

She was bold indeed; might as well call her Cen Bold from now on.

Twisting the ring on his pinky finger, the man narrowed his eyes, feeling for the first time what it was like to be so irritated as to sneer coldly.

...

Cen Mo reached the car and saw Su Miao, the drunken crew-cut girl, in the back seat, accompanied by a friend who seemed more sober.

“Get in the front passenger seat,” Su Xingzhi opened the driver’s door from the other side.

The back was already full, so Cen Mo had no choice but to sit up front. Once inside, the strong smell of alcohol hit her.

Su Xingzhi obviously noticed it too, wrinkling his brow in disgust. He rolled down all the windows before starting the car.

“Well... maybe I should just take a taxi home?” Su Miao’s friend on the back seat finally spoke up. Her long hair was tangled by the wind, and she had a couple of cigarette butts stuck in her mouth.

“Where do you live? I’ll drive you.” Su Xingzhi didn’t even look back, reminding coldly, “Seatbelt.”

The friend seemed quite afraid of him and hurriedly buckled up, giving her address.

The destination was close; within five minutes they arrived. After thanking him, the friend got out.

Su Miao showed no sign of waking, her head resting against the seat as if asleep.

“Close the window,” Cen Mo said worried she might catch a cold.

“It’s fine; the breeze makes her feel better. Closing it will make her vomit.” Su Xingzhi said but still rolled the window halfway up.

The car was silent; he apparently didn’t have the habit of playing music while driving.

Cen Mo watched the passing scenery for a while, then raised her hand to fix her hair. She didn’t often tie it up, and the tight leather strap was uncomfortable.

“Let your hair down,” Su Xingzhi suddenly said, still focused on driving.

“Huh? Oh...” Cen Mo raised an eyebrow, thinking he might not accept her hairstyle and feeling awkward. She untied her hair while saying, “President Su, this style is quite common. Isn’t your sister’s hair crew-cut too? Women have the right to shave their hair as long as they like it.”

“That’s not what I meant.” He tapped his long fingers on the steering wheel. The light ahead turned red, and he stopped the car, glancing at her. He wanted to say something but hesitated.

“President Su, what’s wrong?” Cen Mo saw an expression on him she hadn’t seen before.

He frowned and seemed to have endured a lot before speaking in a low voice, “You don’t realize how much girls like you looking like this?”

“...” Cen Mo opened her mouth but had no reply.

The light turned green, and Su Xingzhi drove into a residential complex.

Su Miao was still asleep in the back seat. Cen Mo got out, opened the door, and called softly, “Miss Su, wake up, we’re home.”

“Just call her Su Miao.” Su Xingzhi stood nearby.

Cen Mo nodded and called again, “Su Miao, get up.”

No response for a long moment. The crew-cut girl smacked her lips, eyes still closed, mumbling something unintelligible.

Cen Mo had no choice but to look at Su Xingzhi.

He approached with a cold expression, grabbed his sister’s shoulders with one hand, shook her gently with the other until she partially woke. Then Su Miao’s arm looped around his neck as he half-supported her upstairs.

Cen Mo followed behind, taking the access card he handed her to open the door. She was impressed by this straightforward way of switching care. Luckily, Su Miao was over 1.7 meters tall; if it were Cen Mo, her feet would have been off the ground.

She couldn’t help but recall when she once stepped barefoot on a man’s leather shoe and bit her lip, momentarily lost in thought.

Su Miao lived alone in an apartment. She looked neat and tidy, but her home was a cluttered mess. The spacious place was strewn with shoes and unopened packages, and clothes were carelessly piled on the sofa.

It wasn’t dirty but purely lazy or unskilled at organizing. She bought so many deliveries that it ended up this way.

Cen Mo felt a bit overwhelmed upon entering; she had mild OCD and hated seeing disorder.

Seeing Su Miao about to vomit, she quickly rushed over to help her to the bathroom just in time.

Watching Su Miao throw up into the toilet, Cen Mo fetched a glass of water from the kitchen. When she returned, Su Miao had finished, and Cen Mo handed her the water to rinse her mouth.

After all this, Su Miao sobered up somewhat and could walk out unassisted. She stumbled to the bedroom, collapsed onto the big bed.

Su Xingzhi tidied the living room roughly. When he came in, he saw his sister lying like a dead log, still in her coat and shoes, looking even more displeased.

“Get up, take off your coat before sleeping.” He frowned and bent down to lift her.

Just then, Su Miao opened her eyes, squinting at him, suddenly slapping him: “Go away, I hate you, you’re not my brother!”

The girl had quite a temper, struggling left and right, refusing to see her brother.

“President Su, should I take over?” Cen Mo suggested after watching for a while.

For some reason, after she took over, Su Miao was less resistant. She grumbled a bit but let Cen Mo help her remove her coat and shoes and wipe her face with a wet towel.

Cen Mo was meticulous. Although she didn’t know Su Miao well before, she took good care of her, covering her properly with a blanket before leaving the room.

She went downstairs with Su Xingzhi. After getting back into the car, the man didn’t speak but drove her to her doorstep.

The night outside was deep; the residential area was mostly deserted, silent except for the occasional cries of stray cats lurking in the shadows.

Cen Mo shrugged her shoulders and hesitated before saying, “President Su, the times I was at the bar tonight and last time under Doctor Xu’s building, I was covering shifts for someone, not moonlighting, so it shouldn’t violate company rules, right?”

After a moment with no reply, she sighed. “Thank you, President Su. I’m leaving now.”

Let it be as it may. Who asked her to be caught, especially by the president himself? Thinking this, she reached to get out of the car.

Suddenly, she heard a click—the car door was locked.
