Learning all the bad things instead of the good.
Squeak, squeak, squeak! Master, I am hungry, I want to eat chicken! I want to turn my grief and anger into appetite and eat lots of chicken.
The little fox pointed at her small belly, her expression clearly saying that she was hungry and expected to be fed.
Xuanyuan Yu raised an eyebrow. She had been so upset just a moment ago, and now she wanted to eat. Animals truly forgot their anger quickly, yet this only made her all the more adorable.
"Head Eunuch Li, go to the imperial kitchen and bring a plate of crystal chicken," Xuanyuan Yu instructed the elderly eunuch standing nearby.
"Understood, this servant will go right away." Head Eunuch Li bowed and backed out of the room.
Xuanyuan Yu tapped the little fox's pink little nose and said, "Little Fox, are you still upset now?"
The little fox turned her small head away, wrinkled her tiny nose, and let out a squeak. Hmph, I am angry, extremely angry! Do not think a single chicken is enough to make me forgive you; I have my principles, you know!
Xuanyuan Yu smiled helplessly. He had just thought that animals did not hold grudges, but his own words had instantly slapped him in the face. Who said animals did not hold grudges? They deserved to be dragged out and executed!
Since the little fox ignored him, he had no choice but to go back to reading his memorials. However, when the little fox leaned over to take a peek, she saw it was yet another memorial about selecting a imperial concubine, and she swatted it away with a single paw.
After checking several memorials in a row, the little fox found that every single one of them concerned the selection of imperial concubines. Her expression darkened, and she swept her paw across a thick paper memorial, leaving three distinct claw marks gouged into the surface.
Squeak, squeak, squeak! Damn it, more concubines again! You bunch of blockheads, I am going to scratch you all to death! All of you fox-immortal-forsaken mortals better remember this: once my cultivation reaches perfection, I will turn every last one of you into women and marry you all off!
"Little Fox, do not be angry anymore. If you do not wish to see these memorials, I will have Hanbing take them away and burn them," Xuanyuan Yu coaxed, his tone as tender and gentle as could possibly be.
Then, his voice turning icy cold, he commanded, "Hanbing, take all of these memorials and burn them. Do not let them offend the little fox's eyes and displease her."
"Yes, Your Majesty." Hanbing materialized out of empty space, his eyes filled with helplessness. How could his master have lost all his dignity like this? A mere little fox had completely conquered him—this defied all logic!
Hanbing gathered up all the memorials and carried them away. Seeing the completely empty desk, the little fox's mood improved slightly. She lay flat on her back in Xuanyuan Yu's arms, extending her sharp little claws and stretching and retracting them, thoroughly amused.
She licked her small padded paws. Why hasn't my chicken arrived yet? I am hungry, so hungry.
"Little Fox, where are you?" Liyue rushed into the council hall, shouting for the little fox without noticing that Xuanyuan Yu was still present.
The little fox glanced at Liyue, having no desire to play with her. She felt deeply wounded today and needed to consume a large amount of chicken to cheer herself up. As for everything else, she would simply let it scatter in the wind.
"Ah, Liyue pays her respects to the Snow Emperor." Upon catching sight of Xuanyuan Yu seated in the chair, Liyue felt her legs turn to jelly, and she dropped directly to her knees, inwardly crying bitter tears.
Good heavens, why do I never learn anything good and only pick up bad habits? Ever since I started following the little fox, my nerves have become entirely too thick. I actually dared to directly ignore someone as terrifying as the Snow Emperor! Little Fox, you really know how to ruin people!
Squeak, squeak, squeak! Get up, get up. I will not hold it against you; I am always exceptionally kind and pure. The little fox waved her tiny paw, gesturing for Liyue to rise.
Xuanyuan Yu gave the little fox's small rump a light pat. She certainly knew how to usurp the host's authority, but he did not mind at all.
Apologies, something has come up at home, so I only have one chapter for you today. Please forgive me; my other book hasn't even been updated yet! And please, spare some vote tokens for me!
