Tong Xiaoman could not care less about what he had to say. Once she delivered her warning, she gave him no further chance, slamming the door shut with all her might, completely indifferent to whether she might have crushed his hand in the process.

Outside the door, Ya Ya fortunately pulled his hand away just in time; otherwise, it would not have been impossible for the door to have snapped it clean off.

Breaking into a cold sweat, he pulled out his phone and dialed Zhao Yi’s number, immediately pouring out his grievances: "President Zhao, your cousin is ignoring me. I'm heartbroken!"

"I told you this was a possibility, but you wouldn't listen and insisted on going yourself. My cousin has been back for quite a while now, and you’re only getting kicked out just now?" Being able to stay inside for that long was not bad at all.

"The hell it is! I didn't even make it past the doorway; I was shut out." This was undoubtedly the greatest humiliation in the history of gigolos.

"How did you mess that up? Wasn't the trunk brought in ages ago?" Zhao Yi arched his eyebrows high.

"Don't even mention it. I don't know what kind of bad luck I had today. The trunk was perfectly fine, but suddenly a masked man appeared, knocked me out without a word, and hid me in the room next door. I just woke up and was hoping to find your cousin for some comfort, but who would have thought..." Ya Ya’s little heart was so shattered that if he scooped it up, it would look like dumpling filling.

"Alright, don't be sad. Just head back for now, and I’ll compensate you," Zhao Yi soothed him in a gentle voice.

Ya Ya’s eyes lit up instantly, and he immediately demanded, "I want the limited-edition G9 off-road vehicle."

"You rascal, that’s the most expensive car sold this year," Zhao Yi retorted with a scoff.

"To you, President Zhao, that’s just a drop in the ocean. Without that car, my wounded soul will never recover."

"Fine. The keys will be delivered to you tomorrow. Satisfied?"

"Thank you, President Zhao."

The gloom on Ya Ya’s face vanished instantly, and he left in high spirits.

Zhao Yi hung up the phone, a look of profound depth crossing his beautiful, flawless face.

The weather today was magnificent—a cloudless sky, a vast expanse of blue sea and heaven. Everyone was in high spirits, as today was the grand wedding of Nalan Che, the leader of the feared Di Sha Group.

Their wedding was being held in a luxurious yet solemn chapel by the seaside.

Legend had it that the Nalan family were nobles from the last dynasty. After entering modern society, they established the Di Sha Group, a conglomerate spanning commerce, politics, and the military, firmly gripping the core of power.

It was a rock-solid position that no one could shake.

Legends were always beautiful, yet untouchable for ordinary people.

Tong Xiaoman was attending the wedding on behalf of the Zhao Group. She sat in the front row, but she was so bored she felt like dozing off.

Because after waiting for ages, the bride had already appeared, but there was no sign of the groom anywhere.

The bride was stunning; dressed in her wedding gown, she was as beautiful as an angel.

Tong Xiaoman’s lovely lips curved into a faint, amused smile. Was heaven really making her watch a wedding farce without a groom today?

The priest on the altar was already anxiously wiping sweat from his brow, and the bride’s face had turned as green as seaweed.

Old Master Nalan Tian, the core figure of the Nalan family, remained expressionless, but the anger deep in his eyes grew increasingly intense.

Though everyone else found it strange, they were as silent as cicadas in winter, not daring to make a peep, waiting in quiet anticipation.

The Wedding March played over and over again, and the appointed time had long since passed.

It seemed the man of the hour would not be appearing. Her cousin was truly something, dragging her to attend such a boring wedding.

Tong Xiaoman shrugged, reached out to gracefully straighten her clothes, and prepared to take her leave.
