“Heh! Do you think I’m Wen Xiaorou?” Fengjing sneered coldly at Lin Feier. Suddenly, a group of bodyguards in black suits burst through Lin Feier’s front door.

Lin Feier was stunned by the unexpected intrusion and quickly fled to her bedroom, grabbing her phone to call her manager and assistant for help. It was clear she had provoked someone she shouldn’t have. Judging by Fengjing’s tone, this woman had no intention of caring about Wen Xiaorou’s feelings.

“Take her to the hospital,” Fengjing commanded. The bodyguards immediately grabbed Lin Feier, yanking her up and tossing her phone aside. It seemed Fengjing intended to make her pay dearly.

“Who do you think you are to treat me like this? Let me go! This is illegal! Wen Xiaorou is still here! Do you think you’re Mrs. Jing, that you can rule with an iron fist?” Lin Feier shouted at Fengjing as two bodyguards lifted her up.

“If anything happens to me, Jing Nuo will never let you off. The child I’m carrying is Jing family’s flesh and blood,” Lin Feier insisted, still hoping Jing Nuo would protect her from this venomous woman.

“Heh! Flesh and blood of the Jing family? Could be anyone’s bastard,” Fengjing sneered. She despised the women in this circle—anything for money or fame. She didn’t believe the child Lin Feier claimed was Jing Nuo’s.

“You have no right to treat me like this. This is illegal! I will sue you!”

“Shut your mouth!” Fengjing frowned and rubbed her ear, clearly irritated by Lin Feier’s incessant babbling.

“Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!” Lin Feier struggled desperately, but how could she resist the towering bodyguards? No matter how much she wanted to keep the child in her womb, it was all in vain. Fengjing had given the order—there was no chance for that child to survive.

Fengjing looked at Lin Feier with a cold, amused smile. It was too early for her to fight back. Besides, Jing Nuo didn’t even acknowledge this woman’s existence—how could she possibly be afraid?

“Lin Feier, I’ve dealt with you this time. If there’s a next time, I won’t go easy on you. How about Xiaorou? Has she gone home yet?” After handling Lin Feier, Fengjing called Jing Nuo. Compared to Wen Xiaorou, Fengjing was a hundred times more ruthless and bore no fear toward Jing Nuo.

“We’re divorced. I won’t return to the Jing family,” Jing Nuo’s voice was flat, revealing no emotion—not happiness, not sadness. It was as if marrying and divorcing Wen Xiaorou was just one of countless matters he dealt with daily.

“What? Divorced? Jing Nuo, are you just saying that to make me happy?” Fengjing slammed on the brakes in the middle of the road when she heard the word divorce. Jing Nuo had truly divorced Wen Xiaorou. Wen Xiaorou had really left the Jing family. Would Jing’s father be willing to let that happen? She was the chosen daughter-in-law, the one the Jing family had raised for ten years.

“So she really left? That woman is really gone,” Jing Nuo muttered, disdain evident in his voice whenever he referred to Wen Xiaorou as “that woman.” Even hearing her name gave him a headache. That woman wouldn’t even take money from him. If she left the Jing family, what else was she going to do? Starve herself? They’d known each other so long—did it have to end in a contest of wills? Was it about pride? What difference would taking the check make? Was she afraid he would make her vomit it back up?

Now Jing Nuo’s thoughts about Wen Xiaorou were filled only with worry. She had come to the Jing household at thirteen, quiet and always following him around. She had no work experience, just a face of breathtaking beauty. Could she be heading down a path of no return?
