Chapter 41: The Fishing World of Toriko!!
Chapter 41: The Fishing World of *Toriko*!
*Toriko*!
A foraging adventure story revolving around bizarre and rare delicacies, cooking methods, and formidable enemies!
Zephyr’s knowledge of this work was not extensive, but at the very least, he was familiar with its basic settings, as well as some of its exceptionally powerful characters and abilities.
Especially that legendary legendary power—the **Gluttony Cells**, through which one could evolve and grow stronger simply by enjoying delicious food!
"Since the fishing world corresponding to the Boin Archipelago is *Toriko*, I absolutely cannot miss this island!"
Zephyr held a fresh tenderloin of whole roasted pig in his hand, its rich aroma and glistening fat slowly oozing between his fingers.
"I need to fish for the Log Pose corresponding to the Boin Archipelago as soon as possible to confirm—"
Thinking up to this point, Zephyr couldn't help but pause in a daze.
Come to think of it, did the Boin Archipelago even have a Log Pose?
The Boin Archipelago was not an island in the traditional sense; its physical entity was actually a massive plant floating on the open sea known as the "Baron of the Stomach."
Did a colossal plant like this possess what could be called "magnetic force"?
Zephyr could not be certain.
"Regardless, whether it's a Log Pose or a sea chart, I need to get my hands on them as quickly as possible! I cannot miss the location of the Boin Archipelago!"
"After all, in terms of world tier, the peak existences in *Toriko* surpass those in *One Piece*!"
"The problem right now is Victory Bait!"
Over the past few months.
Aside from basic training, Zephyr had spent his time diligently and meticulously killing fish in the ingredient processing room. His fish-slaughtering blade technique had become cold, ruthless, and thoroughly master-class.
Because the previous deserted island evaluations hadn't really featured islands suited for *fishing* like the Winter Island or the Zombie Island, the "Victory Bait" he had accumulated through slaughtering fish had mostly been saved up.
The bait Zephyr consumed in his daily life consisted primarily of what he harvested by defeating the elite marines of the training camp.
To this day.
The "Victory Bait" Zephyr had accumulated, when fused together in pairs, was enough to form a top-tier C-grade bait!
"I wonder what level of power a C-grade ability corresponds to in *Toriko*!"
"Gluttony Cells... probably out of the question! But what about other abilities?"
Zephyr felt a strong urge to go *fishing* immediately, but he rationally forced it down.
"With only a single C-grade bait right now, the fault tolerance is too low; I can't afford to waste it!"
"The F-grade fishing just now only reeled in a piece of pork; today's fishing luck is fairly mediocre."
"I'd better accumulate some more bait on the Boin Archipelago first..."
Having formulated his plan, Zephyr let out a long breath, right as the rich aroma of food emanating from his hand reached his nose.
Looking down at the fresh tenderloin in his grasp, Zephyr chuckled softly.
"Well, I happen to have a portion of food here. Although the quantity isn't much, it's at least enough to keep hunger at bay..."
Without further ado, Zephyr shoved the whole roasted pig's tenderloin straight into his mouth.
True to its origins as a high-end delicacy produced in *Toriko*, its deliciousness far surpassed the food in the cafeteria of the marine training ship, leaving an addictive, lingering aftertaste that made one crave more.
Zephyr gently sucked the residual pork fat off his fingers. Before he even had a chance to thoroughly savor the taste of the tenderloin, it had already slid down into his stomach.
"If, after surviving the Boin Archipelago's survival evaluation, my palate gets completely ruined by gourmet food and I can't stomach anything else anymore... what then?"
Out of nowhere, Zephyr considered this possibility and couldn't help but shiver.
"I hope not!"
Having finished his meal and regained his energy, Zephyr began recalling the information about the Boin Archipelago depicted in the original work.
"The outermost perimeter of the island is inhabited by powerful sea beasts and other creatures lured in by the aroma of food; the central region of the island is a seductive forest filled with all sorts of temptations of food; and as for the innermost core, that's the feeding mouth of the Baron of the Stomach!"
Zephyr roughly identified his bearings, set off on foot, and headed toward the "Seductive Forest" in the central region of the Boin Archipelago.
"Those sea beasts attracted to the island by the food's aroma are all targets for my slaughter! Especially the ones in the central region that have been fattened up nicely! Killing them will be simple and straightforward."
Along the way, Zephyr continued to ponder his survival plan for the upcoming month.
"The most crucial part is that the Baron of the Stomach itself is also a 'plant organism'! It's just a bit too large. To deal with it, I currently lack a weapon with sufficient destructive power!"
Amidst his continuous contemplation, Zephyr walked from the outermost coastline into a dense, lush forest teeming with abundant vegetation and towering trees.
Upon entering the forest, Zephyr reined in his wandering thoughts and focused his attention.
**Beast Breathing: Spatial Perception** was unleashed, sensing the environmental conditions around him.
The outermost perimeter of the Boin Archipelago was also the most dangerous part of the island, swarming with a massive number of large creatures that had not yet been "captured" by the Baron of the Stomach.
Zephyr had to proceed with caution to avoid capsizing in a drainage ditch.
Just at that moment.
A rustling sound suddenly came from the bushes nearby, the dense leaves shivering violently as if some vicious, atrocious creature was about to leap out from within!
Zephyr crouched slightly, his gaze locked intently on that spot.
A moment later, a massive insect covered in a thick, dark-brown carapace leaped out from the bushes.
Its appearance resembled a cockroach magnified a thousandfold, and upon its forehead, embedded with a pair of yellow compound eyes, grew two slender antennae that twitched incessantly in the air.
"What a disgusting creature..."
Zephyr's expression turned cold as he abruptly lifted his right leg, wrapped in **Clockwork Bandages**.
This item, which had once provided Zephyr with a massive boost in strength, was now beginning to fall behind the current version.
Zephyr's right leg carved a fierce trajectory through mid-air, the super-high-speed kick whipping up a powerful compressed air slash.
Six Powers: Tempest Kick!
The glowing "air slash" howled as it flew through the air, reaching the front of the giant cockroach in the blink of an eye and cleaving the screeching giant insect cleanly in half!
Shattered carapace, severed limbs, and spurting blood made for a horrifying scene.
Even though Zephyr's current overall evaluation was still only D-grade, with all his primary attributes reaching C, his true combat prowess was far from what the light screen described.
Even without a summoning device, Zephyr was still a formidable D+ warrior!
[You have defeated a giant insect with an overall evaluation of E!]
"E-grade bait? Not bad at all!"
Zephyr put away the light screen, quickened his pace, and headed deeper toward the center of the island.
"For the other marines, though, dealing with these things should be quite troublesome..."
