Chapter 61 All of this is the arrangement of fate
Chapter 61: All of This is the Arrangement of Fate
Carida was a middle-aged white woman dressed in athletic wear, exuding a clean and efficient aura.
Luo Du was of medium height and sturdy build. Wearing gold-rimmed glasses, he looked quite scholarly in his button-down shirt and trousers.
Upon arriving at the villa, the two first used instruments to review the data reports from the other four members to check Gao Yun’s current physical condition. Afterwards, all six members of the team gathered in the living room for their monthly regular meeting, with Diao Jun and Zhou Tian recording the entire process on camera. The meeting was conducted in both Chinese and English.
The first item on the meeting agenda was for the team to revise and formulate Gao Yun's training and diet plan for the coming month.
For the second item, Gao Yun informed the six team members of his purpose for this upcoming trip to the capital: it was partly to visit his teacher, partly for sightseeing, and at the same time, the first step in leaving Hushi to develop his self-media career.
This meant that the four people accompanying him closely might need to travel back and forth with him, and Carida and Luo Du’s monthly workspaces would constantly change accordingly.
Clayton could hardly wait, saying, "No problem, boss. I've had enough of staying here. Let's hit the road as soon as possible!"
Thomas expressed some concern, "If we keep changing cities like this, the training facilities won't be fixed, and our progress might slow down."
Gao Yun replied, "I'm just saying there's a possibility of shifting back and forth between several cities in the short term. You can just treat it as a vacation. I want to scout out a few cities here that are suitable for the development of my self-media career while also offering a relatively livable environment, and then I'll purchase property and set up a gym to settle down."
"In fact, I might even select several cities and rotate between them every so often. Who knows, perhaps after going to the capital this time, I'll be quite satisfied with it and make it one of my permanent bases."
Gao Yun spoke in Chinese. His intermediate English proficiency was not yet sufficient to express complex vocabulary clearly, so Diao Jun—who possessed excellent English skills from working in foreign trade—acted as the translator, conveying the message to the three foreigners present.
"However, no matter how much we change cities, your living and dietary conditions will only improve, not worsen. This includes housekeepers; you will still have your own dedicated housekeepers. Secondly, as my physical data grows stronger across the board, your salaries will also increase. This is my promise to you."
"Thank you, boss!"
"Yun, you are definitely the most thoughtful boss I have ever worked for."
Zhang Ye, Wang Sheng, Thomas, and Clayton were all delighted. As for a boss who hired housekeepers for his subordinates, they had genuinely never seen one before.
Gao Yun continued, "With promises come demands. I have only one demand: my physical data is improving, and I hope your professional standards are improving as well. If you stand still, it means I stand still! Entertainment is fine, but continuous learning is a must! If I feel that any one of you here can no longer meet my current needs with your professional skills, I'm afraid I'll have to say goodbye to you and hire someone better."
Luo Du said, "That is only right, A-Yun. I will definitely live up to that salary. The Chinese weightlifting team is number one in the world, and our strength training methods are undoubtedly the most advanced. I am training you the exact same way I train Olympic champions. However, regarding certain specific training techniques, I hope you won't film them in too much detail or explain them when shooting videos, A-Yun. Please blur them during editing to prevent leaks."
Gao Yun made an OK gesture. "Don't worry. Every contract signed by members of our team contains cross-confidentiality agreements. Any video involving training will be submitted for your review before release." With that, he nodded to Zhou Tian and signaled, "Bring out the new contract for Mr. Luo."
"Coming right up."
Zhou Tian took a document and a pen out of his crossbody camera bag, placing them on the coffee table.
Gao Yun picked up the contract and said, "This is Mr. Luo's new contract. His overall training framework for me, his specialized strength breakthroughs, and his communication and leadership among the entire team have all left me extremely satisfied. Therefore, I have decided to raise his annual salary to four million RMB and issue an additional bonus of one million RMB."
"Whoa!"
Clayton wore an exaggerated expression. "Luo, this means you've only worked sixty days this year and you're getting a five million salary!"
Luo Du clearly hadn't expected this either. Surprise flashed in his eyes as he protested, "Don't talk nonsense! Although I only spend five days a month by A-Yun's side, I haven't been idle the rest of the time, alright? Which day do I not hold meetings with you guys?"
That was indeed true. Luo Du was exceptionally dedicated to Gao Yun's physical development. He felt that he had never been this conscientious and responsible even when training athletes for the national weightlifting team—after all, being a coach for the national team didn't pay a salary this high. This was the sheer power of money.
"..."
Wang Sheng the chef and Carida the nutritionist watched with burning envy, their minds racing along similar lines: some of the dishes they had prepared recently had repeated; they needed to figure out how to come up with new creations.
Zhang Ye the physician, on the other hand, scratched his head in frustration. It seemed that no matter what he did, he couldn't capture Gao Yun's attention. Did he actually have to hope for the boss to get injured so he could have a chance to showcase his skills?
Thomas was also pondering whether he and that rascal Clayton had been playing video games too much lately, becoming a bit lazy and slack. Things couldn't continue like this; he needed to study and improve himself, otherwise, where else could he find another job with such great benefits if he got replaced?
After signing the new contract, Gao Yun transferred the one million bonus to Luo Du on the spot. Seeing that all six team members were excited and deeply motivated—even the normally lazy Clayton had been fired up—he knew he had achieved the exact effect he wanted.
"We have been together for over two months now, and I hope to continue working with all of you. Believe me, my desire to push past my physical limits is absolute—greater than anyone else's."
"Therefore, I hope we all progress together. No one is to be left behind."
"A-Yun is right."
Luo Du took the lead in applauding, and the others quickly followed suit.
With the meeting concluded, Gao Yun proceeded with his daily routine training as usual.
Since he was in his own private gym without business hours restricting him, his twice-daily training sessions were now scheduled from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, no longer as rushed as before.
Coupled with mastering skills in street dance, guitar, and singing, and handing over the video shooting and editing work, his free time had expanded considerably. Generally, he had nothing much to do after 4:00 PM.
Having finished his daily routine today, Gao Yun called his older sister and arranged to meet at their parents' house. He planned to have a meal with his family, talk about his future arrangements, and bid them farewell.
Driving toward his parents' house, looking at the familiar streets, buildings, pedestrians, and vehicles along the way, Gao Yun felt a rush of deep emotion.
"After I leave, the per capita attractiveness of Hushi will drop by at least three percentage points. I'm sorry, folks. All of this is simply the arrangement of fate!!"
It was all arranged.
