Chapter 6: The Auction Confrontation
Chapter 6: The Auction Clash
Gu Mang leaned back against the sofa, engrossed in a video game. Her head tilted to the side, legs crossed casually—an aura of effortless cool, radiating a lazy, carefree demeanor. She looked every bit the delinquent girl who shirked her studies.
No one would believe that this very girl was the world’s most elite hacker.
So far, the undisputed queen of the hacking world.
Lin Shuang looked at her with envious eyes.
Only seventeen years old, yet her medical skills were astonishing. How on earth did she get so smart?
And this little boy, at seven years old, had already managed to infiltrate the computer of this international hacker without leaving a trace.
How did these siblings’ minds even develop like this?
“The next and final item of tonight’s auction is the Sleeping Jade,” the auctioneer’s voice echoed through the entire bar.
As Gu Mang looked up, her game character jumped into a river and drowned itself—game over.
She put her phone away and fixed her piercing, cold black eyes on the jade brought forward by the hostess, narrowing them slightly.
The auctioneer smiled and said, “I believe many of you have heard of this jade, so I won’t say much. The final item of this auction, the Sleeping Jade, starts at one million.”
“One million one hundred thousand!”
“One million five hundred thousand!”
“Two million!”
Those admitted to Tianque were all wealthy beyond measure.
The Sleeping Jade had such a legendary reputation that competition was fierce.
“Four million three hundred thousand!”
“Ten million.”
A crisp, lazy male voice came from the second floor.
The room fell silent.
All eyes turned to the second floor, as if someone had hit pause.
It was just a piece of jade.
The organizers at Tianque had probably expected the Sleeping Jade to sell for no more than five million.
They never imagined it would soar to ten million!
The auctioneer was about to ask again to confirm the final bid.
“Fifteen million.” Lin Shuang raised her paddle with a smiling face, raising the stakes.
Gu Mang raised an eyebrow, a subtle, knowing smile playing at the corner of her lips.
Fifteen million! The auctioneer was stunned for a moment before regaining composure. “Fifteen million, anyone willing to go higher? Fifteen million, going once!”
“Twenty million.” The voice from the second floor sounded again.
Lin Shuang calmly raised her paddle, “Thirty million.”
The auctioneer was speechless.
Even with money, not everyone could bid like this!
Others raised their bids by tens of thousands; this household was throwing millions and tens of millions like spare change!
“Forty million.” The figure from the second floor spoke slowly.
Lin Shuang and Gu Mang exchanged a glance, grinning seductively.
“Fifty million.”
Qin Fang grew interested, “Who’s this reckless person competing with Cheng Ge for the item?”
He set down his wine glass and rose, moving to the railing.
Seeing the trio of mother and son, his curiosity deepened.
He Yi Du also approached, resting his arms on the railing, eyes fixed on Gu Mang, a smirk tugging at his lips. “Interesting.”
Lu Chengzhou narrowed his eyes slightly, his voice magnetic and low, “Sixty million.”
The auctioneer was speechless.
What level of heavyweight had just revealed themselves at today’s auction?
