Chapter 31: How Did You Get a Zero?
Chapter 31: How Did You Get a Zero?
A voice, light and slow yet laced with an eerie quality, fell upon everyone’s ears.
The scene went silent for a second, and all eyes turned toward Gu Mang.
The girl was surrounded by a low-pressure aura; her lower eyelids were tinted a faint, dangerous red, and her upturned eyes held a cold, ruthless edge.
It was bone-chilling.
She slowly curled one corner of her lips. "Meng Jinyang, come here."
Meng Jinyang was stunned for a moment, let out an "oh," and obediently walked to Gu Mang’s side.
Gu Mang tossed her long hair back with an air of indifference. Her beautiful features carried a hint of ferocity, and the curve of her mouth resembled that of a female devil.
She spoke unhurriedly, "Principal, Meng Jinyang and I will go to Class 20 together."
Luo Songhua’s expression changed instantly upon hearing this, and she said coldly, "What is this supposed to mean? Are you playing games with me?!"
She felt that they should be grateful that she had even deigned to accept Meng Jinyang!
She was the one in the position to pick and choose; it was not their place to boss her around.
Principal Fu looked at Gu Mang in astonishment. "Are you sure you want to go to Class 20 with Meng Jinyang?"
Although Luo Songhua’s words were harsh, Class 1 was, after all, the top class of the senior year and the class every student aspired to enter.
Entering Class 1 meant having one foot through the door of a top-tier university.
Gu Mang’s cold gaze swept over Luo Songhua. With her hands in her pockets, she gave a lazy, affirmative hum.
The principal was secretly delighted, though he still feigned a look of regret on the surface, reluctantly saying, "Fine, then we shall do as you wish."
Upon hearing this, Luo Songhua glared at them angrily. "Ungrateful wretches! You’ll regret this soon enough!"
After throwing these words out, Luo Songhua furiously pulled open the door to the principal’s office and stormed out.
Principal Fu turned to Xi Yan. "Teacher Xi, I’ll leave these two children in your care. Please arrange for them to start attending classes as soon as possible."
"I understand, Principal."
Xi Yan took the two to the senior building, chatting with them gently and patiently along the way.
"Although Class 20 isn't as good as Class 1, rest assured that your teachers will teach you with dedication. As long as the college entrance exam hasn't arrived yet, you both have infinite possibilities," Xi Yan said with a smile.
Meng Jinyang chimed in like an obedient student, "Thank you, Teacher."
Xi Yan patted her shoulder. "Let me take you to pick up your textbooks first."
Gu Mang showed no reaction, her eyes cast downward as she walked forward with an air of nonchalant arrogance.
She was overflowing with a wild, rebellious spirit.
Xi Yan looked at her a few times, unable to hold back her curiosity. "Gu Mang, I have a question for you, I hope you don't mind."
"Hmm?" Gu Mang tilted her head slightly, one eyebrow arched, signaling her to continue.
There was something indescribable about that movement.
It was quite cool—unlike the typical school bullies who were ignorant and incompetent. It was impossible to dislike her, and one might even find themselves inexplicably drawn to her.
Xi Yan didn't understand why she had such a strange feeling.
She cleared her throat and began, "I looked at your grades, they are all... how did you manage that?"
Xi Yan phrased it very tactfully.
Gu Mang suddenly laughed, the corner of her mouth curling up in a look that was seventy percent wicked and thirty percent roguish. She tilted her head as she looked at her. "How did I get a zero?"
Watching the frank and honest Gu Mang, Xi Yan’s mouth twitched, and she nodded.
Gu Mang used one finger to push up the brim of her cap, revealing her exquisite features, and said languidly, "Because while others took the exam, I slept through it."
Xi Yan: "..."
This big boss was just too charming!
She felt like she was about to be completely captivated!
