Chapter 18: These Fools
Chapter 18: This Bunch of Fools
The moment Lu Xiwei saw someone come out, she immediately stepped forward. “Nanny Jiang, has Grandmother woken up?”
Nanny Jiang sighed and shook her head, her expression full of worry. “The matriarch is still unconscious.”
“Looks like my suspicion was right,” Lu Xiwei said coldly, curling her lips. “If you were really that capable, would your name not appear on the medical organization’s rankings?”
She had only scratched the surface of the knowledge, yet dared to show off in front of an expert of her caliber. Truly embarrassing.
Gu Mang remained silent.
Lu Siyue’s face darkened as he glanced at the police officers. Then, lifting his chin toward Gu Mang, he said, “Suspected of reckless medical treatment. Take her away.”
Gu Mang stood with her hands in her pockets, watching the police officers who had long been waiting for her approach, her gaze indifferent.
Her posture was still that lazy, casual manner—arrogant and prideful, looking down on everyone.
The police took out handcuffs.
Lu Shangjin crossed his arms in front of Gu Mang, his sharp eyes sweeping over everyone as his voice turned cold and stern. “If you accuse Gu Mang of reckless treatment, where’s the evidence?”
Lu Xiwei sneered. “Sixth Uncle, she pierced needles into Grandmother and even drew blood from her. Grandmother hasn’t woken up until now. If this isn’t reckless treatment, then what is?”
“Xiwei, don’t waste words on them. Hurry and perform surgery on Grandmother.” After speaking, Lu Ruoshui turned to the police. “Take this fraud away.”
“I’d like to see who dares!” Lu Shangjin said grimly.
Lu Siyue’s eyes darkened. “I dare! Lu Shangjin, don’t forget, you were expelled from the Lu family twenty years ago! You have no right to interfere in our family matters now!”
“You—!”
Lu Shangjin’s expression soured to the extreme.
He glanced at Gu Mang, who watched the scene like an outsider enjoying a show, feeling utterly exhausted.
She was clearly the one about to be taken to the police station for questioning.
How could she remain so calm?
Truly, the emperor is indifferent while the eunuchs fret.
Lu Xiwei passed by Gu Mang, pausing slightly, her eyes slanting with contempt. “Awake in an hour? Recovered in two days? Ha, how presumptuous.”
With a mocking tone, she turned and walked into the room.
Lu Siyue grew impatient. “Hurry up and take her away. What kind of person deserves to enter the Lu family?”
Lu Shangjin heard this and nearly laughed in anger.
No wonder Gu Mang never feared her identity being exposed.
Because even if it were revealed, no one would believe it.
Who would believe that the divine doctor everyone in the families wanted to connect with was a seventeen-year-old girl?
What a bunch of fools!
He took a deep breath, suppressing the raging fury in his chest, and looked at Gu Mang.
Still so unhurried and composed.
Sigh.
A true powerhouse is indeed formidable.
The police bypassed Lu Shangjin, handcuffs in hand, reaching out to grab Gu Mang.
Her fingers inside her coat pocket tapped softly.
Tapped three times.
Just then—
The door to the old lady’s room suddenly swung open from the inside, and Lu Chengzhou stepped out.
Lu Xiwei’s hand froze midair. Seeing Lu Chengzhou emerge, she was stunned.
Her eyes unintentionally glanced into the room and saw the military doctor leaning over the bedside, speaking softly.
The old lady’s aged eyes were now slightly open, a narrow slit.
She had clearly regained consciousness.
She stared at the scene in shock.
How was this possible?!
Lu Xiwei’s brows knitted tightly, disbelief shining in her eyes.
She hurried inside to check.
Grandmother had been in a deep coma; no need for brain surgery, just acupuncture alone could awaken her?!
She refused to believe it!
Update check-in:
Wow, it’s already December. Time flies.
