Chapter 17: This Is Simply Ridiculous
Chapter 17: Utter Nonsense
Gu Mang manipulated the needles for several minutes.
Then, she proceeded to draw blood from the twelve Jing points one after another.
Lu Xiwei’s expression darkened as she saw Gu Mang drawing blood. She strode over angrily, “What do you think you’re doing?!”
Lu Chengzhou turned his face toward her, his cold and sharp gaze intimidating.
In an instant, Lu Xiwei froze in place.
She bit her lip defiantly and said, “Third Brother! Grandma has had a stroke! She’s drawing blood from her hands and feet! What good do you think that will do?!”
“When have I ever been patient enough in your eyes?” Lu Chengzhou said softly and slowly, the curve of his lips cold and ruthless.
The atmosphere in the room turned icy.
Lu Xiwei met Lu Chengzhou’s dark, piercing eyes, her pores tightening as if suffocating.
Her face paled and flushed in turns, but she forced herself to speak, feigning strength but trembling inside, “Third Brother! You’re risking Grandma’s life! I’ll never allow a deceitful woman like her to run wild here!”
She took a step forward and reached out to pull Gu Mang away.
Before her hand could touch Gu Mang, a cold, slender hand clamped onto her wrist in midair.
The young woman slowly lifted her icy black eyes, faintly bloodshot at the corners, her arched brows wild and fierce, her grip tightening inch by inch.
Lu Xiwei frowned in pain, “Let go of me!”
“I haven’t thrown you out. I’m letting you watch how I treat the old lady, not to interfere with my treatment, understood?” Gu Mang spoke each word deliberately and calmly.
Lu Xiwei glared at her, “Your method is utterly baseless and will only delay Grandma’s recovery. Can you afford the consequences?”
“I said, I will cure her.” Gu Mang’s gaze swept over her, patience dwindling to nothing, her voice growing dangerously soft and slow. “Don’t interrupt me again.”
With that, she shook off Lu Xiwei’s hand.
Her beautifully shaped eyes now gleamed cold and sharp, chilling to the bone.
“You!” Lu Xiwei couldn’t believe she was actually intimidated by such a woman; her words caught in her throat.
The housekeeper hurried over and pulled her aside. “Miss Xiwei, let’s just watch how this young lady treats her first.”
Gu Mang continued.
After finishing the bloodletting at the twelve Jing points,
she paired it with stimulation of the He Gu and Tai Chong points, leaving the needles in place.
Lu Xiwei’s face turned ashen. She cast a cold glance at everyone present, snorted disdainfully, and turned to storm out.
With Third Brother here in the ward, she couldn’t touch this woman.
If Grandma didn’t wake within an hour, this woman wouldn’t leave the capital alive!
As soon as Lu Xiwei left, relatives from both immediate and collateral lines gathered around.
Dozens of voices questioned the old lady’s condition.
She relayed the situation inside to them.
“This is sheer nonsense!” The Fourth Master of the Lu family roared, knitting his brows tightly as he turned to walk inside. “I’m going in to see...”
“Uncle,” Lu Xiwei stopped him, biting her lip helplessly. “Third Brother insists on letting that woman treat Grandma. None of us can do anything if we go in now.”
Lu Ruoshui snorted coldly. “Fine, if they’re treating her in there, then we wait. If anything happens to Mom, I want to see how the main family explains themselves to everyone.”
At these words, everyone harbored their own sinister thoughts.
If Lu Chengzhou’s gamble failed, the main family wouldn’t escape blame.
...
Half an hour later.
The old lady’s room door opened from the inside, and the housekeeper emerged, leading Gu Mang and Lu Shangjin.
As Gu Mang stepped out, she noticed the police standing outside and narrowed her cold eyes.
Trying to arrest me?
