The two continued downward. After walking for a few minutes, the slope suddenly and unexpectedly became much steeper, leaving no time for any reaction.

Wisdom Star had no time to cry out before he was already sliding down.

Quiet stopped in her tracks. The beam of Wisdom Star's flashlight grew increasingly distant. After hesitating for a long moment, she chose to move forward, and soon, just like Wisdom Star, she slid rapidly down the slope.

The two slid downward continuously for an unknown length of time until they finally reached the end.

Wisdom Star got up from the ground. Everything around was pitch black. Then, he heard a sound coming from behind and quickly stepped aside. Shortly after, Quiet’s figure appeared.

"You followed me even down here?" Wisdom Star raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.

"Don't start." Quiet stood up, her right hand patting the dust off her backside, and took a step forward. However, she accidentally stepped on something and almost fell to the ground. "What on earth is this?"

Both of their flashlights had rolled off to the side.

Wisdom Star picked up the flashlights and handed one to Quiet.

As soon as Quiet took the flashlight, she illuminated the area ahead. Right beside her foot lay a human head.

At this sight, Quiet jumped back in fright and cried out,

"Watch out!"

Wisdom Star ignored her and scanned his surroundings.

Presently, he was in a massive underground space. The beam of the flashlight could not reach the top, and the "wall" behind them was entirely composed of human corpses. Countless corpses were piled on top of one another, forming an endless wall of the dead.

"Is this the bottom of Hehfang Island?" Quiet took a few quick steps to come to Wisdom Star's side.

"It seems that what truly supports Hehfang Island is not soil and rock, but human corpses." Wisdom Star said this and began to walk forward.

"Could the Moon God Altar really be in a place like this?" Quiet looked back over her shoulder every couple of steps.

"Let's hope so." Wisdom Star quickened his pace.

A few minutes later, a square towering structure piled entirely out of corpses appeared ahead. The tower was about twenty meters high, gradually narrowing as it ascended, until it was only half a meter wide at the peak.

At the summit of the tower stood the red Moon God, whose crimson sphere emitted an eerie red light. The Moon God was cradling a corpse dressed in white robes—a corpse without a head.

The scene of the Moon God atop the tower looked identical to one of the murals.

"Is this... the Moon God Altar?" Quiet raised her head, gradually slowing her pace.

"Nine times out of ten. It turns out the Moon God Altar wasn't up above, but down below." Wisdom Star looked up, mesmerized by the red Moon God on the tower.

"My neck..." Quiet suddenly felt that something was amiss with her neck, as if it were beginning to split apart. However, after patting it with her right hand, she found no abnormalities.

"You feel that something is wrong with your neck too? Then we can be certain this is the Moon God Altar." Wisdom Star turned his head to look at Quiet, then walked forward.

Quiet followed closely behind Wisdom Star.

As the two drew closer, the corpses at the base of the tower became increasingly distinct. Their skin was an ash-white color, the muscles on their faces were distorted, and their expressions held extreme terror, as if they had arrived in hell.

The next second, the corpses began to stir. Their hands, resting outside the tower, scraped frantically at the empty air ahead, as if trying to grab a straw to save their lives. Yet, aside from empty air, there was nothing for these corpses to grasp.

After seeing the faces of the corpses clearly, Quiet instantly felt nauseated and deeply unwell.

Wisdom Star halted his steps, going no further. He turned to look at Quiet and said,

"Now, terminate the wish!"

"Since Duan Ling is the primary wish-maker, it is naturally most appropriate for you to be the one to terminate it."

"Just say things like, 'Moon God, I wish to take back my wish. I do not want everyone to stay together forever, I want everyone to have their own lives,' or something similar."

"Go ahead!"

With that, he extended his right hand, palm facing upward, in a gesture of invitation.

Quiet hesitated for a moment. Two seconds later, she stepped forward, looked up at the Moon God with a devout gaze, and cried out in a loud voice:

"Moon God, please take back your power! I no longer wish for everyone to stay together forever, I want everything to return to normal."

"Please take back the wish!"

As soon as she finished shouting, the underground space fell into absolute silence.

Following that, the corpses forming the tower let out an eerie "woo-woo-woo" sound, resembling both sobbing and eerie laughter. Yet, this sound did not evoke pity; instead, it bred pure terror.

Quiet placed her right hand over her chest in a defensive posture, her entire body tense to the absolute limit.

Suddenly, a beam of light shone directly into her eyes.

"What are you doing?" Quiet raised her arm to block the glare.

"Your shadow has returned to normal." Wisdom Star shifted his flashlight away.

"My shadow?" Quiet looked down at her shadow and discovered that the connection between the head and the neck had returned to normal. Then, she aimed her flashlight at Wisdom Star, but what she saw was entirely different. "Why does your shadow still have a crack?" She pointed her right index finger at Wisdom Star's shadow.

Wisdom Star froze, then slowly turned his head to look at the ground.

In the beam of the flashlight, a crack remained between the head and body of his shadow. Although it was much smaller than before, it was still clearly visible. The Moon Shadow curse still lingered on Wisdom Star.

For a moment, a storm of thoughts raged in Wisdom Star's mind, his expression shifting uncertainly between light and shadow.

"Why is this happening?" Wisdom Star asked softly, not directing the question at Quiet, but at himself.

"Could it be because of Zhang Sibo?" Quiet murmured softly.

"It's possible..." Wisdom Star nodded, though his tone lacked any certainty.

[The dialogue restriction during the Blood Moon has been lifted. Actors no longer need to comply!]

Suddenly, a notification from Hell Movie surfaced in both of their minds.

Hearing the notification from Hell Movie in her mind, Quiet breathed a sigh of relief. "What should we do now? Wait for the sightseeing boat to return?"

Wisdom Star remained silent. After three seconds, he spoke in a low voice:

"Let's find a way out of here first, and then decide based on the situation. Cang Yi should have lifted the Moon Shadow curse by now as well; let's go look for him."

"I hope he's still alive."

With that, Wisdom Star walked toward the Moon God Altar. However, instead of making a wish or demanding the retraction of the wish, he walked around it. Behind the Moon God Altar, there seemed to be another path.

The two bypassed the Moon God Altar.

As Quiet walked past the Moon God Altar, she felt a bone-chilling cold all over her body, unable to stop herself from shivering.

Before long, a door frame marked with moon phase symbols appeared on the corpse wall ahead.

"It's the moon phase door frame! When Cang Yi and I went to see the Moon God back then, we also used the moon phase door frame." Quiet's voice rose excitedly. With the Moon Shadow curse lifted, her mood improved considerably.

"Then let's go in." Wisdom Star's expression remained calm and unruffled, completely devoid of any joy.

Quiet opened her mouth as if to say something, but swallowed the words back down.

The two stepped through the moon phase door frame.

Darkness descended, and shortly after, a crimson blood moon rose from the darkness, banishing it completely.

Quiet opened her eyes and found herself back on the spiral staircase. She turned around and saw the moon phase door frame behind her.

"To think it leads right here. Going in from here should allow us to see the true Moon God." Quiet reached out to touch the moon phase door frame, a freezing chill transmitting from her fingertips.

"You mentioned before that Cang Yi made you jump to the other side, right? I think it's very likely he was grabbed by the headless corpse you mentioned, and perhaps he's down in that pit." Wisdom Star looked back at the moon phase door frame.

"Perhaps. Or maybe... he's already dead." Quiet's tone carried a trace of reluctance.
