Chapter 51

Cada Vez um Novo Sistema Aleatório Há um templo. 3855 words 2026-08-04 05:11:14

Everyone in the live broadcast room watched as Guan Jiaqing was swallowed up by the surging tide of zombies and drifted further and further away, while Wanshan remained stranded in the same spot, entirely surrounded by the horde.

The scene played out precisely like a melodrama, with the hero and heroine separated—one staying behind while the other walked relentlessly into the distance.

"Qingzi!! I can't hear you!!" Wanshan shouted at the top of his lungs.

All around him, zombies were gnawing and chomping away at his body.

Blindfolded, Guan Jiaqing thrashed his fists wildly into the mass of zombies clinging to him. "Take my left hook!"

[Help, what on earth are they doing?!]

[Tears in my eyes. The two brothers have ultimately drifted apart, just like me and my winter break.]

[Wake up, upstairs, the winter break has literally just started.]

[Hahahahahaha, where on earth is he even going?]

[Now that's what I call surrounded by a whole bunch of guys.]

[Literally the literature class representative reporting for duty. This symbolizes that everyone carries burdens in life; some people choose to forge ahead while bearing the weight, whereas others choose to stay right where they are.]

[Wait, how on earth did they even come up with such an absurd operation?!]

Guan Jiaqing only felt as though he had stepped into a thick quagmire. Every step he took grew increasingly laborious and strenuous.

He could barely even swing his arms anymore.

Dammit!

He couldn't just let the zombies surround him like this.

Wait!

A sudden flash of inspiration struck Guan Jiaqing.

"Wanshan! I've come up with a brilliant idea!"

Wanshan, still stuck in his original spot, yelled back, "Qingzi, what did you say? I can't hear you!"

Guan Jiaqing waited for ages without receiving a reply from Wanshan, so he shouted again at the top of his lungs, "Wanshan!"

Ten meters away, Wanshan yelled, "Qingzi!"

[Such an idol drama.]

[Hahahahahahaha, the bullet comments are going to kill me.]

[These two are absolute clowns, hahaha. Why don't you guys just take your earplugs out?!]

[Help, how did they even get into college?!]

[As everyone knows, senior year of high school is the peak of human intelligence. Once you step into college, your IQ automatically plummets.]

[Emergency! Emergency! When on earth will these two ever find each other and experience the feeling of the hero and heroine brushing past each other in a TV show?]

Having yelled for ages without hearing a response, Guan Jiaqing took a deep breath and courageously pulled the tissue out of his left ear. "Wanshannnn!!!!"

"Qingzi!" Wanshan's voice drifted from the distance.

"Wanshan!"

"Qingzi!"

"Wanshan!"

"Qingzi!"

Enveloped in pitch-black darkness, the two groped their way forward, relying entirely on each other's shouts to guide them.

Surrounded entirely by swarming zombies, every single movement they made was agonizingly difficult.

Until, finally, his fingers brushed against a pair of warm hands.

Overjoyed, the two shouted in unison, "Wanshan!"

"Qingzi!"

"I finally found you!"

[So touching. Absolutely touching.]

[Just an innocent passerby here, are these two blind streamers?]

[I don't dare laugh; I'm afraid they might be part of a special demographic.]

[Help, I can't escape this live stream anymore, hahahahaha.]

[Screen recording saved. I'm keeping this to broadcast every Chinese New Year from now on.]

[Hilarious, hahahaha.]

Only after grabbing Wanshan's hands did Guan Jiaqing speak up. "Wanshan, I've figured out an infallible way to kill these zombies!"

Wanshan cupped his hand around his ear. "What?"

"Ha! We have the golden body and can't die anyway, so why don't we just use our own bodies as weapons?" Guan Jiaqing laughed heartily, placing his hands proudly on his hips.

He really was a genius!

Wanshan didn't quite catch it. "Explain it in detail."

Guan Jiaqing hooked the corner of his lips, a look of absolute victory plastered across his face. "Look, there are so many zombies here. If we climb up to the upper floor and jump down, we should be able to crush a few to death, right?"

That's right! This was the brilliant method he had devised.

As everyone knew, the two of them were utter weaklings who couldn't lift weapons to save their lives.

Therefore, they could entirely rely on themselves to become the weapons.

And a dangerous stunt like jumping off a building would naturally trigger a series of physical equations.

"The gravitational force acting on an object is directly proportional to its mass, and directly proportional to the acceleration of the falling object!"

"As long as we're heavy enough, we can crush these zombies to death!"

Wanshan took a deep breath. "Oh my god! Why didn't I think of such a brilliant method!"

"It has to be you, Qingzi! You truly deserve to be the mastermind of Dormitory 310!"

"Alright! As long as this plan succeeds, we might even end up in first place!"

Guan Jiaqing nodded, unable to suppress his smile. That's right! He was simply this ingenious.

There was no helping it; he still remembered his high school physics even after reaching college. He was just too amazing.

"Let's go, let's find a building right now!"

[......]

[Did they actually manage to find a method?]

[Ah?!]

[Is there any possibility that you guys just needed to find some heavy objects to throw down, instead of literally jumping off a building yourselves?!]

[Very well, His Majesty's Wolong and Phoenix Fledgling are still those very same Wolong and Phoenix Fledgling. Entrusting the tiger tally to you two gives me absolute peace of mind!]

[Hahahahahaha, I was watching the stream at work and burst out laughing. When my boss asked what I was laughing at, I shared this stream with him. Now he's laughing so hard his wig fell off.]

[I have to admit, every single one of their ideas is utterly unexpected.]

[This must be that unique creativity the client has been asking for.]

Meanwhile, on the other side, Yu Qian stood atop a rooftop, holding a bow and arrow. He had strapped a pair of binoculars to his face and was trying his utmost to aim at the zombies below.

Yesterday, he had come to a profound realization regarding his greatest weakness.

It was his inability to aim.

Since he couldn't aim properly, was there any way to attach a scope to his bow?

Yu Qian pondered for a long time before finally getting his hands on a pair of binoculars. He racked his brain trying to strap the binoculars onto the bow, only to realize that the contraption was completely useless.

After all, he couldn't possibly press his eyes directly against the bow to shoot.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration hit him. Why not strap the binoculars directly onto his eyes, just like a pair of glasses?

With the binoculars strapped firmly to his head, he peered down at the zombies at the foot of the building. "Aim!"

"Headshot!"

"Whoosh!" The arrow flew off like a bird.

Yet the zombie he was looking at in his field of view continued to wander around. "Roar!"

Yu Qian: ......

[I've been watching him shoot arrows here all morning.]

[Well? How many hits did he get?!]

[One hit!]

[What?! He actually hit one?!]

[He hit a zombie standing ten meters away from the one he was actually aiming at.]

"Roar, roar, roar!"

Yu Qian was worrying about his archery skills when his brow suddenly furrowed as he looked at the riotous horde of zombies below.

He noticed that all the zombies down there were rushing toward the left.

Turning his head, he saw a car driving over from not far away, the woman inside wearing a solemn expression.

Beside her, a man leaning out of the car window was waving his hand, unleashing bursts of dark mud that swallowed up the surrounding zombies.

Yu Qian: !!!

"So cool!"

Down below, Qin Yan sat in the armored vehicle, her brow deeply furrowed. "Why are there so many zombies?"

"The situation seems a bit wrong," said Yue Feng, sitting in the passenger seat.

They were a reconnaissance squad of five from the Hope Base, out searching for supplies.

This time, their mission was to search for seeds. Following three years of research, their base had successfully developed a chemical formula capable of reversing soil contamination.

However, they lacked a sufficient quantity of seeds, having lost too many during the early days of research.

Now, they needed to find seeds and bring them back to the base.

"No, we can't drive forward anymore," Qin Yan suddenly said. "There are way too many zombies up ahead."

The sight of the endless tide of zombies swarming from the distance drastically altered her expression. She immediately slammed on the brakes to turn the car around and retreat.

Yue Feng and the two other ability users in the back seat also rapidly unleashed their powers to fend off the approaching zombies.

Suddenly, the young girl sitting right in the middle of the back seat opened her eyes. Her complexion was slightly pale as she spoke weakly, "Hurry, let's leave!"

"There are at least tens of thousands of zombies here."

The girl's name was Yi Si; she was the mental-type ability user of their squad, capable of perceiving everything in the surrounding area.

Just as Qin Yan was preparing to make a U-turn, Yi Si furrowed her brow again. "There's someone."

"There's a living person on the rooftop ahead, an ordinary person without any abilities."

"What?" Yue Feng blurted out in disbelief. "There are still living people in a place like this?"

Qin Yan pressed her lips together and looked toward the rooftop ahead, spotting a tiny dark figure standing up there.

Her brow furrowed as she watched the sea of dense zombies surging forward. The person standing on the rooftop looked exceptionally helpless, as if they might plunge down at any moment.

"Captain Yan, should we save him?" asked Jiang Yunxi, who was sitting next to Yi Si.

"We can't save him!" Yue Feng retorted. "There are simply too many zombies ahead. If we go over there, it will be nearly impossible for us to break back out."

Hearing his words, Qin Yan glanced back at the figure on the rooftop, only to see the person frantically waving their arms as if calling out for rescue.

"Yue Feng, you drive. You guys leave first," she said decisively. "I'll go bring that person over!"

Yue Feng whipped his head around to stare at her. "Captain, you need to stay calm right now."

"Your ability can indeed support you in flying over, but will you still be able to bring him back and catch up with us?"

Qin Yan cast a glance at him. "I can. I leveled up yesterday."

Yue Feng's eyes widened. "You leveled up yesterday?"

Ability users were capable of leveling up, and with each tier they advanced, their powers grew stronger.

If Qin Yan had indeed leveled up, rescuing this person shouldn't be too difficult, especially since she was already formidable to begin with.

"Then be careful. We'll wait for you at the gas station up ahead."

Qin Yan nodded, opened the car door, and swiftly handed the driver's seat over to Yue Feng.

Then, leveraging the wind to propel herself upward, she soared toward the tall building.

As a wind-type ability user, flight was no difficult feat for her, and rescuing this person shouldn't pose much of a challenge either.

Standing on the rooftop, Yu Qian had been waving and greeting them when he suddenly noticed the armored vehicle pause, followed by a figure seemingly flying through the air toward him.

[What is going on here?]

[People can still fly in the apocalypse?! Is that martial arts lightness skill?]

[Streamer, hurry up and apprentice to them! Is this person here to rescue the streamer, by any means?]

[Hilarious. My Brother Yu can gather a whole pile of zombies all by himself; he doesn't need anyone to rescue him. Someone go rescue the suffocating air that's being assaulted by his arrows instead.]
