Chapter 31

Early in the morning, the line continued to grow longer.
After waiting for more than half an hour, Yu Jingshan finally reached the front. He grinned.
“Boss, do you remember me?”
“I’ll take all the new products!”
He had already bought the Bamboo Copter and the Magic Glasses, so he did not need to buy those two again.
But as for the new products, he wanted every single one.
Xia Zui did remember him. He was the man she had met at Jiangchao Park.
The first customer was always the most memorable.
She let him choose the items himself, then glanced at the products behind her. By now, nearly every item had sold several hundred units.
They would probably all be gone by noon.
The Magic Glasses, however, were another matter. So far, only a few people had bought them.
At this rate, she probably would not be able to complete the task within a week.
After all, the glasses had to be sold to people who genuinely needed them.
Xia Zui thought for a moment. She remembered coming across videos by the man in front of her. He seemed to be a content creator.
“Could you do me a favor?”
Yu Jingshan was examining the Weather Cloud. When he heard the stall owner speak, he immediately looked up.
“What favor?”
What could he possibly do for the stall owner? Was there anything she could not accomplish herself?
Xia Zui said, “You probably heard me just now. I hope to sell the Magic Glasses to people who truly need help, but many people don’t know about them.”
“There’s strength in numbers. Could you help me promote them? I can pay you for the advertising.”
Yu Jingshan fell silent for a moment.
“You don’t need to pay me. This is a good deed, and it’s no trouble at all.” He laughed. “I’ll post a video later today!”
“Besides, if we’re being honest, the recent surge in views on my videos is all thanks to these high-tech products. If anything, I might have to give you a share of the profits.”
Xia Zui smiled. “No, no, that won’t be necessary. In that case, thank you.”
Yu Jingshan scratched his head.
Nearby, Xiao Li heard the exchange and thought that if the stall owner truly wanted to help people this way, perhaps they could lend her a hand as well.
Xiao Li took out his phone and sent a message to the bureau. A short while later, a reply came back: Understood.
After buying the products, Yu Jingshan immediately hailed a taxi to mail the Magic Fitting Mirror and the Clothes-Cleaning Machine. As for the other items, he planned to take them home with him.
After a frantic bout of activity, he set off on his return journey.
He had come to Jiangchao City solely to buy the new products and had never intended to stay and sightsee, so he bought a plane ticket and prepared to go home and make review videos.
After all, now that more people knew about the stall owner, he had to get ahead of them.
But how had a travel blogger like him ended up becoming a product reviewer?
And why did people urge him to post new videos every single day?
Noon arrived.
Looking at the products that had nearly all been sold, Xia Zui picked up a loudhailer and called out to those still waiting in line.
“Anyone who came to buy the new products doesn’t need to keep waiting. They’re almost sold out.”
Her announcement sent a chill through the hearts of everyone toward the back of the line.
“I just got here!”
“Boohoo, I’ve been waiting for so long! How could they already be gone?”

“Stall owner! Can’t you bring out more stock? I really want a Weather Cloud!”
“Somebody save me! I’ll pay a thousand! Can anyone let me cut in line?”
“No cutting! Even if she agrees, we won’t!”
“I’ll pay ten thousand for a place in line!”
“Stall owner, please! Have pity on this poor child. I really want to spend money on you!”
“Just give me a chance to spend my money!”
Xia Zui: …
It was not as though she could sell these things simply because she wanted to. There was nothing she could do.
Just then, someone shouted, “The new products are sold out, but there are still Bamboo Copters, right? I’ll buy one!”
The moment he said this, the people who had already left the line came hurrying back.
That was right—there were still Bamboo Copters!
If they could not buy a new product, a Bamboo Copter would do just as well.
After selling the rest of the products, Xia Zui took up the loudhailer again.
“The new products are sold out. Only Bamboo Copters and Magic Glasses remain.”
“There are still more than nine thousand Bamboo Copters. Anyone who wants to buy the Magic Glasses, please line up over here!”
She wanted to divide the customers into two lines so she could see exactly how many people needed the Magic Glasses.
Unexpectedly, quite a few people really did leave the original line and move to the other side.
There were only a few dozen of them. At the front stood an elderly man, leaning on a cane and wearing a simple dark blue-and-black coat.
Beside him, the customers buying Bamboo Copters were scanning their phones to pay. The old man, however, reached into his pocket with trembling hands and pulled out a square handkerchief.
With his wrinkled, age-spotted hands, he carefully unfolded it, then took out some money wrapped in a plastic bag.
The bills inside were of various denominations, all arranged neatly.
“How much are the glasses?” he asked, looking at Xia Zui with cloudy eyes.
“I’m buying them for my granddaughter. She can’t see.”
“One hundred and ninety-nine,” Xia Zui replied.
The old man nodded slowly. He first pulled out a hundred-yuan bill, then gradually counted out the remainder.
The small stack of money quickly grew thinner before he handed it to Xia Zui.
Xia Zui passed him the Magic Glasses and gave him a few instructions.
“When you get home, have your granddaughter put them on. She’ll be able to see. When she isn’t using them, keep them somewhere safe.”
The old man accepted the glasses with great care, afraid of damaging them.
“I understand.”
“Thank you. My granddaughter was so happy when she heard there might be a way for her to see.”
He had left home early that morning and walked to the pedestrian street, waiting for the stall owner to arrive. He wanted to see whether he could buy a pair of glasses for his granddaughter.
The girl was only seven years old. Her eyes had been weak since birth, and gradually, she had lost her sight almost completely.
Her parents had gotten divorced, then abandoned the child at his home.
From that day onward, the two of them had depended on each other.
The girl was still so young. He could not bear to let her remain blind forever.
One day, when he was no longer able to see either, there would be two blind people left in that household.
He was already old, and his years were numbered, but his granddaughter still had a long future ahead of her.
She could not end up like him, spending her entire life shut inside a dilapidated house and gazing only through a tiny window.

Watching the old man shuffle away with his back hunched, Xia Zui could not help thinking of her own grandmother. When she was young, she too had depended on her grandmother for survival.
Unfortunately, her grandmother had passed away later, leaving Xia Zui alone in this world.
Xia Zui pressed her lips together and continued selling the products, but then she suddenly heard Eleven say, “Xiaxia, you still have us!”
The Little Stall added, “That’s right…”
“We’ll always stay by your side!” Eleven set off fireworks in Xia Zui’s mind. “And your grandmother must still be accompanying you too. She has simply become another form of matter.”
“She is the wind, the rain, the stars and moon, and the sun as well.”
Hearing what Eleven and the Little Stall said, Xia Zui could not help smiling.
“Thank you.”
It was wonderful that she had met Eleven, the Little Stall, and Haohao.
That afternoon, Yu Jingshan hurried home from the airport. Wearing the Weather Cloud and the Bamboo Copter, he began testing them in the living room on the first floor.
The first thing he wanted to test was the Weather Cloud. After all, it was his favorite.
The Magic Fitting Mirror and the Clothes-Cleaning Machine were still on the way. He had paid for expedited delivery, but they probably would not arrive until the next day.
As for the Pet Spirit Ball, he would have to find a test subject. Come to think of it, could it contain any pet, or only the owner’s own pet?
That point had to be tested carefully. Otherwise, it might encourage the rampant theft of pets.
Then there was the Hair-Growth Comb, whose results would not be known for ten days.
Yu Jingshan stroked the soft, fluffy Weather Cloud and first tried to climb onto it. Unfortunately, the cloud felt somewhat like cotton.
It could not bear his weight at all.
He tried moving the cloud to one side, wanting to see whether it could still change the weather without facing him directly.
After testing it, he discovered that the cloud could move up to one meter away from him. Beyond one meter, it could no longer be controlled.
He still had to test whether it could be used to harm other people—for example, by suddenly making it rain or sending hail down on passersby.
He needed to test every possible danger posed by these products.
Yu Jingshan made a phone call and invited his best friend over. Then he waited, planning to post a test video about the Weather Cloud that very evening.
That night, Xia Zui ate some snacks she had bought on the way. After a full day of activity, there were not many Bamboo Copters left.
Only the Magic Glasses remained in large quantities.
Quite a few customers still came hoping to buy the new products, only to discover that they had sold out early that morning.
They clutched their heads and wailed in despair.
They wished they could grab Xia Zui by the hand and make her promise to notify them the next time she set up her stall.
Xia Zui: …
She had only wanted to complete the task as quickly as possible. At the time, she had not thought that far ahead.
Just then, a video about the Magic Fitting Mirror was uploaded to the internet.
In the video, a young woman faced the mirror and filmed herself.
“This is the new product I bought from the stall owner—the Magic Fitting Mirror!”
“According to the stall owner’s demonstration, this mirror seems to be able to test the quality of clothes sold by online shops. Let’s give it a try.”
She was not a professional content creator, and her manner of speaking was casual.
In the video, the young woman casually selected an online shop on her phone. The shop had extremely high sales and specialized in padded coats. The price was not particularly expensive—just over one hundred yuan.
She pressed the phone’s screen against the Magic Fitting Mirror. Then everyone watched as the young woman in the video changed into a different outfit.
Not only that, her loose hair had even transformed into a neat bun.
